    This is a beautiful property that is well equipped. It's a car ride to the coast but the trade off is the stunning scenery and peace. With 4 bedrooms and bathrooms the whole party had space and privacy but could spend time together in the spacious lounge and kitchen. The pub next door was lovely with great, simple food - delicious! Rothbury isn't far if you want shops and cafes and Asda will deliver if you need a big shop at the start. Very friendly and helpful owners. Nicest property we've rented over the years! (And the new settees are awesome!)

    This is a fabulous house in a stunning location but it is a long slog on slow roads to get anywhere else. The scenery and the walks are great, there's a pub next door and Clennell Hall is very close, within easy walking distance, I believe they often have folk musicians playing there. If you want a base to go touring from I wouldn't recommend it but for walking, cycling and all round relaxing, this is ideal. You are also right on the edge of the Otterburn ranges.

    We loved staying at Hosedon House, the location is fantastic surrounded by beautiful scenery and no noise! Although it was quite rural we had no problems finding lots to do in the surrounding area. The house is very comfortable and spacious ideal for all eight of us, not too sure about the sofas though, they are quite low and as we all not as young as we were didn't find them too comfortable. Guess they would be great for children and younger folk The owners were very welcoming and helpful and we enjoyed our meals in their pub next door, it had a great atmosphere and we didn't experience any noise from there whilst in the house. It was great to watch the chickens being let out of their pen every morning and the owners very kindly gave us some of their eggs, made great omelettes! All in all we had a great stay in Alwinton and would have no hesitation in recommending this house and location for a holiday Thank you Jane and Gareth ( plus Mum )

    Beautiful property very well maintained in a stunning setting My only reason for not coming again would be due to the remoteness of the village with no mobile phone signal for 5 miles and no local shop. The pub next door provided excellent food and service but it would have been useful to be informed that they don't serve food on 'Pool Nights'

    Very spacious house with excellent facilities. Great having the pub next door. The owner was very helpful & set up a generator when we had a lengthy power cut due to high winds. We were also given eggs from their chickens in the field behind the house. Great walking straight from the house. The only negative was the sofas which were rather low for some of our party, but there were plenty of other laces to sit?
