Hoseasons " Boasting spectacular uninterrupted views over the Firth of Clyde coast and across the sea to the Isle of Arran pictured this spacious and exceptionally well-appointed property sits just one mile from the picturesque fishing harbour at Dunure. Keen walkers will delight in roaming the fabulous beaches and rugged coastline whilst golf enthusiasts can play the championship course at Turnberry 10 miles or one of Ayrshire’s many other courses. At the end of a glorious day visitors can watch a film in the home cinemaentertainment room or just simply enjoy the ever changing sea view. On the roof of the garden room which is located behind the cinema room visitors will find a relaxing hot tub with built in sound system which is enclosed in glass walls and a roof. There are some wonderful places to visit in the area including Culzean Castle and Country Park NT – the castle boasts magnificent interiors even the kitchen block was designed by Robert Adams and the 600 acres of grounds offer a diverse range of habitats for birds and wildlife. Also just 6 miles away is Alloway the setting for Burns Cottage the poet’s birthplace. Ferries to the Isle of Arran are readily available as are day trips to Ireland departing from Stranraer. There is a shop and pub serving food in Dunure 1 mile and the historic town of Ayr offers a good choice of restaurants and shopping 7 miles. Shop and pub 1 mile. \nGround floor Living room. The pictures don't give it enough justice. Brilliant stay with a real homely feel. Plenty of room for all our extended family. Will definitely book again. 👍😀

Fantastic property, amazing views and everything we could have needed for our weekend stay. Couldn’t get a signal on the bedroom TVs and couldn’t get sky to connect but that was likely user error! Didn’t matter as the weather was glorious. Shame the local pub was closed but the coffee and cakes from the cafe were lovely. Would definitely recommend to friends.

Great house and great view. Quite expensive but that is what you have to pay for Luxury. Overall the facilities provided are superb, so please do not think this is a negative review, we really enjoyed our stay. Local amenities are limited (e.g. Pubs / restaurants / etc.). This did not bother us as we were looking for a quiet retreat. Just a couple of areas that could be improved to make the house a perfect 10: 1: There are lots of documents provided (3 boxes of them!) but these contain bus timetables and ferry timetables dating back almost 10 years, and old instruction manuals. E.G. it took us a while to work out how to use the induction hob. (We found two manuals but these were both for models other than the one fitted - presumably for the previous hobs, we could not find a manual for the current hob. Maybe it is there, but with 3 boxes to sift through we just pressed buttons randomly till we got it working...) Maybe someone can throw away anything that is no longer relevant. 2. There is a layer of dust under the furniture, it has not been moved for cleaning recently. (I was only looking to make sure the kids had not left any toys under the furniture). 3. The description of "home cinema" needs updating. We were expecting something grand so were a little disappointed when it is actually a TV smaller than the one we have at home hooked up to surround sound (which we have had at home since 1993)... 4. The WIFI is slow, looses connection regularly, and only works if you are close to the BT hub. Maybe BT is the best broadband provider in the area, but I doubt it... 5. We like poached eggs but despite there being a lot of pots and pans provided there is no egg poacher. (We just soft boiled the eggs and scooped them out, so not a big issue).

This was our group's 3rd visit to Island View and my 1st. The house is beautiful and in a lovely location, we all enjoyed our stay very much. However there were a few cleanliness and facility management issues. TV's and remotes need looking at in the main areas and the bedrooms. A simple cleaning kit would be advantageous to enable those visiting to wipe down table etc after use. A number of cleaning issues were noticed by the group and detailed in the visitors book so i won't go into detail. Not enough information given on how to use the appliances including the Hot Tub. Overall we absolutely loved our stay and would recommend the house and location to friends and family However given the price paid for the property we would expect that everything would be Top Notch. Regards Lynne

We had a super family break at Island View. Gorgeous location! Only small comment is that maybe the cleaners could put the heating on before guests arrive as it was very cold on arrival, but once Fred from next door had shown us how to work the boiler we soon warmed up. Also we hadn’t realised the hot tub wouldn’t be heated up ready to use, so we couldn’t use it when we planned as obviously they take a good few hours to heat up. We will definitely book again!

Lovely holiday house with great sea views. This house is a fabulous size and nicely finished. There was everything we needed although there were some complaints from the kids that the WiFi didn't reach all the bedrooms or up to the upstairs "cinema room" (so couldn't use the "Fire Stick" we took with us. I would however definitely go back!

What can i say , i don't normally leave a review yet allow reviews to cloud my judgement !!. i have seen some negative comments about this place and having now been there i just don't understand some people ( would love to see there houses ) this property is without a drought one of the best i have been too and I've been all over britain so am well advised to pass a CREDIBLE comment . yes there are a couple of small bits and pieces need attention but whose house dosent ?? ( i made a small list for owner instead of leaving negative feedback much more contstructive i would say ) these did in no way stop us from enjoying the house , The place speaks for itself , stunning ,loads of facilities ,20 mins from ayr were there is pubs galore , dogs loved it and so did we going back at least twice a year from now on , . i noted negative feed back about owners !? cant say enough about them just down to earth people very friendly and helpful , We all thought they went the extra mile for us we had no issues at all , the caretaker guy next door is a real character what a gentleman me and the other 2 guys came out house to get the bus (at the door step!!!) to ayr for a few beers and he was getting in his car lol i looked at him he says "were you going lads " as if he didn't know !!! free lift !! and we all laughed all the way . only reason i gave a 9 for amenities is the wee pub at the harbour is shut at the moment probably a good thing lol steep walk home !!! . all i can say is GO you'll love it !! stewart

Our 3rd visit to Island View,,this time however we were disappointed in the cleanliness of the kitchen worktops, sink, doors and floors. The Ladies had to do some cleaning before our relaxing weekend could start. Log burner in back lounge hadn't been cleaned out from previous occupant either,,,being a weekend of mild weather we didn't need to use it. Clothes also left in drawer from previous occupant and t-shirt found behind bed in same bedroom. We did contact Alan the owner who said he would sort out a gift voucher for us for local pub as way of compensation,,,sadly he never carried this out and also never bothered to reply to last message we sent him. The 4 couples won't let this put them off and will probably return again next year....as a paying customer it is nice to be acknowledged and sadly we feel our concerns re the cleanliness were not taken seriously on this occasion.
