Beautiful place, well-kept, friendly people and amazing views!

The cottage was well equipped with all you need for comfort.....and more. The view to the rear is stunning and many evenings were spent just looking out to sea and later on the fantastic mass of stars in the sky. An wonderful place to be and the locals are very friendly. The pub next door but one serves excellent food. Hope to return very soon.

Stunning location and lovely compact apartment which we loved. A few minor points which we hope will improve visitor experience: 1. A little frustrating the electricity was on a key meter system that had to be recharged in the next village several miles away before we left. 2. A welcome pack of tea/coffee/milk would have been useful given that this location

You can't beat the view from the cottage over the sea. We returned a second time as it was such a tranquil beautiful spot. Sadly second time in September we only saw seals once, whereas previously they were around every day. Still beautiful.

On entering the cottage the view out the back was beautiful. Cupboards were well stocked with pots and pans for those who want to self-cater. Had to clean the floor as dog hairs absolutely everywhere and the fridge was missing a door shelf for milk and did not smell very pleasant. The fire grate was only just usable as nearly burnt through. We have stayed in many cottages but this is the only one which we had to pay for electricity, we also had to buy logs and coal to burn as the evenings were turning cool. Nearest shop was in Balvicar about 2 miles away and a tesco at Oban 16 miles away so take everything you need.

The view from the cottage is second to none and draws you in immediately - whatever the weather. The bed is very comfortable but the linens are tired and could do with renewing, despite being clean and ironed. The bed would benefit from a low headboard as currently there is nothing to stop the pillows sliding over the back on one side. The cottage is very small, but the owners have made excellent use of the available space, with thoughtfully placed, high quality fittings in every room. Potential renters need to be aware that the electricity tariff is comparatively high and it might be worth buying wood and/or smokeless fuel for the fire en route to the cottage if arriving on a cool or wet day.

Elenbeich is beautiful. The position of Island View Cottage right on the water is excellent. Very comfortable bed. Everything you would need. The Local Oyster Bar sells great food for both lunch and dinner. The only thing missing for us was the ability to purchase a daily paper. However, it is only two miles to get one., but you need to take the car. This is a lovely location off the beat and track, but take care driving the road is very narrow, but we'll worth it.
