Lovely, cosy comfortable cottage. We visited in February when it was quiet and peaceful - I'm sure it's busier and perhaps not so quiet in the boating season asthere is a boat hire business on site. Sheila and Andy are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. There are no shops immediately in the vicinity but a trip to Fort William and Morrisons, M&S and Aldi is an easy journey to stock up if needed. We found some great walks for our 2 dogs along the Great Glen Way in both directions. A cruise on Loch Ness from Fort Augustus was interesting and enjoyable and well worth the fare. We were lucky to be there in one of the warmest Februarys on record. We'll definitely be back.

We loved our time at Ivy Cottage, lovely cosy cottage, stunning location, extremely helpful friendly staff, a special mention for Andy who was a star & Sheila who looked after us so very well.

An excellent cottage to spend quality time in the Highlands. We stayed in December and our main concern about the cottage had to do with the fan in the toilet that is embedded in the window and thus brings a lot of cold inside and also the kitchen window that is very very drafty. Also as far as local amenities are concerned, everything was closed for the season and the closest restaurant/convenience store was around 10 miles away at Fort Augustus.

Very cosy cottage, felt bigger than the impression the pictures gave. Good location for exploring the area. We had 2 dogs with us and it was great to have such a big enclosed garden. Can be a bit busy due to the Great Glen being right outside, and being next to a relatively busy business so may not be ideal if you are looking for privacy. Free wi-fi was an unexpected bonus, and the mobile reception was good for me too.

We spent a week here, enjoying the surroundings, the walks, the history of the canal, & the location of "Ivy Cottage" We've walked miles, visited interesting places & even climbed "Ben Nevis" We were even serenaded by a Piper ,who was rather good.

Mixed feelings! From the photos we were expecting a cottage in a rural setting but be warned although lovely wee cottage you are next door to a big boat business!not shown in photos! Cars regularly passing by and cyclists and walkers! The setting is lovely ie the hills and loch and canal but the cottage is Not on its own and it’s a big business next door! Not much privacy ! No complaints about the cottage itself ! It’s quite cute and comfortable ! friendly management !

Great holiday. We were able to take our 2 large dogs. Garden was perfect for them. Cottage had everything we needed inside. Owners very helpful and friendly.

We had a few issues that were explained to the managers when we left.

It was exactly what we needed, a total break away from our everyday lives. The people at the Locks were friendly and helped to make the holiday a great success. The weather was pretty awful for quite a lot of the week, but the open fire more than made up for it. Snug and cozy. Would definitely go again. Very helpful on site owners rep. Some of the local facilities were shut for two days of the week, but we worked round it.
