Cottage is smaller than shown in pictures. No garden - says this in brief, but if it was summer you would feel quite trapped. Bedroom two is on the top floor, and blinds are paper thin so sleeping is difficult. Location is good, but no facilities at all within walking distance. Cottage has everything you need though. Good winter break, not so good in summer.

Not a great location for visiting the city centre of York. The surrounding roads are not great and parking isnt directly at the cottage (only 50m but quite a lot of uneven ground). Street lights in the village are not good and the pathway is quite uneven between where you need to park at the village hall and the cottage. There is nothing in the village in terms of local shops or pubs or restaurants, you need to drive to everything. Despite being international travellers and having a 4G connection (at our cost) we were not permitted to use the owners wifi connection which was disappointing when we had onward travel to book and flights to check in. No hair dryer so had to borrow one from a friend. The cottage was a bit damp and had a noticible doggy smell in the living room. Some areas need some attention (a lick of paint here and there, kitchen cupboard organisation, insides of storage cupboards etc. The bedrooms are nice, spaceous and nicely decorated. Probably a poor choice on our behalf rather than the cottage being at fault.

Nice cosy accommodation which suited the purpose of our trip to the York area. The property is in need of a little bit of updating but this did not distract from the comfortable feel of the cottage. We would book again if only to visit the multitude of shopping experiences much too close by!

Cottage was very comfortable, beds were especially comfy..... It had all the facilities/equipment and more to make it home from home. Nice touch by host to leave a yummy lemon cake for us and milk in the fridge for when we arrived.
