We both had a lovely holiday in Jackdaw Cottage and it was very close to all we wanted to do in the area. We loved the fact that at night we could wander down to Waterside for a drink on the waters edge courtesy of the Public House. Sunsets were beautiful. The cottage was lovely place to come back too as It was quiet and relaxing. We would come back and stay in Jackdaw Cottage.

Lovely cottage. Clean & comfortable. Very comfy mattress. Could have done a few more essentials e.g. towels, toilet rolls, hand wash, no towel in kitchen. Location excellent. Good base for exploring the Lakes. Great selection of Pubs, cafes & restaurants. Steps to cottage very slippery in the wet. Needs hand rail?

A great little cottage for a short stay for two in Ambleside. Despite a previous review that made us change which car we traveled in, the garage is big enough for a regular car. Well equipped kitchen but and again with reference to previous reviews there was no washing up liquid and all the hand soaps were empty! Also the fire was not working this needs sorting although we did not need it as it was a very warm weekend. Also outside area although tiny is sunny and ideal for an evening drink but could use some TLC!

This was our first time renting a holiday cottage and what a benchmark. We found this cottage to be a delightful haven at the end of a busy day. Tucked away in a street off Ambleside within a very short walk to the centre of Ambleside. Garage parking is a bonus as there is no space for a car outside cottage. Accessed by a flight of steps that are not steep- be careful of puddles on steps when it rains! would highly recommend this cottage, cosy, clean and welcoming. We would book again without reservation.

Good location for Ambleside but beware it’s a difficult place to access and the garage parking is for a medium sized car. Everything works well in the cottage- a bit mean with the basics and housekeeping could be better. Great service from Nigel with the smoke alarm!

town centre location but nice and quiet during the night, 2 mins walk to shops, pubs and restaurants, put car in garage on arrival and didn't have to use it till departure, plenty of walks straight from the cottage and good selection provided in property, mixed weather during the week so central heating very welcome

We couldn't fault this property. Very cosy, convenient to pubs, restaurants, shops (2 minute walk) but still has the feeling of being outside the town. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you would need. Highly recommended.

This is a lovely well equipped cosy cottage right in the heart of Ambleside and close to the Golden Rule pub. The only negative is the access via 9 irregular stone steps which are slippy when wet, and treacherous in icy conditions ( there is no handrail). The gas log effect stove is superb and the central heating is excellent.
