Aylsham itself was famed for its linen and canvas industry during the 14th century and then later on became renowned for its weaving of woollen and worstead cloths. Still standing proudly near to the market place is the flint-faced church of St Michael a fine example of Gothic architecture of the Decorated style. Within its 14th-century tower there is a ring of ten bells considered one of the finest rings in the county. The prominence of the town was due largely to its close proximity to the very large estates and grand country houses of Blickling Felbrigg Mannington and Wolterton which are popular tourist attractions to this day and are easily accessible from Aylsham. Humphry Repton the famous English landscape gardener lived in a country estate at Sustead and is now buried in the churchyard of St Michael’s church in Aylsham.\n\nWhile little is known about the full history of Jenni’s Cottage its size suggests that it was of some importance at the time it was built in the early 18th century. Its impossible not to fall in love with this pretty cottage which boasts a multi-fuel burner a private courtyard garden and two shower rooms. Jenni’s Cottage has a warm welcoming feel from the moment you step inside and it has been decorated and furnished thoughtfully by the owner to give it a light and airy feel. \n\nAylsham itself has lots to offer holidaymakers including the Bure Valley Railway which winds through North Norfolk countryside taking you to the gateway to the beautiful Broads Wroxham. Here you can join an organised boat trip or even charter your own day launch and literally watch the world drift by. You can also be at the coast in under 20 minutes so make time to visit Cromer with its wide sandy beach Edwardian seafront and much photographed pier. Head to Sheringham and enjoy Sheringham Park with over 1000 acres to explore and the famous North Norfolk Railways. All along this coastline you will find pretty seaside towns and villages with various coastal habitats including sand and shingle beaches sand dunes sand marshes and quays. \n\nHistory buffs will be pleased to hear that the Blickling Estate is very close by and this former home of Anne Boleyn is well worth a visit as the estate is simply breathtaking. You should also visit Norwich just 15 minutes away and explore the splendid Norman castle and numerous museums and galleries. All in all Jenni’s Cottage is the perfect retreat for those wishing to explore the area by day and then venture out to eat and drink in the evenings. And once visited this cottage is sure to become a favourite that you will return to time and time again. Beach 12 miles. Shop pub and restaurant 200 yards. \n " https://img.chooseacottage.co.uk/Property/107/840/10710007.jpg UK11464

We had a fantastic stay in Jenni's cottage. We arrived in the snow and the cottage had everything you could need for a winter break including a log fire.

Jennis cottage was a joy to stay at. The facilities were excellent and suited our family of two adults and two unders 4s perfectly. A couple more chairs for the dining table would of been useful. The owner helped us out a pickle when I mistakenly booked the wrong number of nights-much appreciated. Its very easy to park in the wrong spot- perhaps a picture of the exact spot would be helpful? In summary we were very pleased with the cottage and wouldnt hesitate to recommend and to revisit.

Cosy & tastefully decorated. Walking distance to nice pubs & a wide choice of shops. Nice town. Short drive to the sea. Very helpful owner.
Only one parking space, but there is plenty of free parking a couple of minutes walk away from the cottage.

We really enjoyed our holiday. The cottage was very well equipped and cosy. Our three tall teenagers were comfortable in the beds and enjoyed the table football. Excellent shower rooms. The garden was lovely for spending time outside. The parking space was fine for our Volkswagen touran. Best to go in forwards and reverse out. The landlord was good at responding to text messages. Plenty of grocery stores in the village within a short walk. We will definitely be staying again as there is still plenty to explore in Norfolk.

Set in a beautiful small town, with excellent facilities. Cottage very well appointed.
The parking space was tight for our Skoda Fabia Estate. Some cutting back of the hedge/shrubs at rear of soace would help a lot.
