Jessamy cottage is very well situated. The bedrooms were lovely. Our children enjoyed the pool at the Hydro hotel. That’s a nice touch. Unfortunately our first impression wasn’t great as there was broken glass, litter and empty beer cans right by the front door. The cottage decor seemed tired and dated. The sofas were very uncomfortable and the throws on them stank of dog. Yes I know it’s a dog-friendly cottage but I would’ve washed them if I’d had a way to dry them. I don’t understand why there isn’t a washer-dryer. The lack of dishwasher meant that most plates/cups/plates/pans were dirty and needed to be washed before they could be used. I also had to scrub the grease off the oven racks before we could put pizzas in the oven. The grout in the shower is turning black and needs bleaching and the basin in the bathroom appears to be blocked as it’s very slow to drain.

My most relaxing holiday ever ( despite having 3 boys with me for a bike riding holiday!). Amazing views, tranquil setting, friendly farmer neighbours. Brilliant for dogs. Will definitely return soon!

    Simply excellent!!!!

Cottage needs attention to cleanliness and maintenance Particularly in the outside areas The outside table was filthy and I ended up with stains on my clothes

Lovely cosy cottage with views over Lake Windermere from the two external pattio's. It had every thing we needed and Stella the dog loved it. There are a couple of little things to bear in mind. It is up a hill or steps which didn't effect us but may need to be considered if someone has restricted mobility. There is a car parking space immediately outside the cottage which is brilliant. Hiwever you either have to reverse in or out along a narrow back lane. The space was very small for our vehicle but a small to medium sized car would fit. I am mentioning this last as had we known we could have brought our other car. Over all a really nice stay in a super cottage in a good location.

Myself and partner have just came back from an amazing holiday. Jessamy cottage is beautiful! Very spacious with beautiful views of Lake Windermere also very close to shops and lovely restaurants. We had some amazing walks with beautiful scenery and visited some beautiful places. Will definitely be coming back

We had an excellent family break in this beautiful, comfortable, very clean cottage. It had everything we needed for both adults and children. Brilliant base for exploring the lakes, very handy for all the pubs/cafes/restaurants. We will definitely stay again.

Had a lovely time. Very cosy place. Welcome pack was a lovely thought including treats for doggies. The place is a little tired but the location makes up for that. The balcony from main bedroom with distant view of the lake is an added bonus. Unfortunately abit chilly for our stay. Would recommend and definitely stay again. We stayed 5night and it cost around £730 but it was over Xmas/New Year.

We enjoyed our stay in this nice and cozy cottage

Brilliant central location! Ideally close to all local amenities. fantabulous bars & restaurants nearby. Bit run down, could be easily resolved. Cigarette butts and fag ash around all doors, not ideal or great first impression. Dirty dishes & oily frying pan in cupboard. Worn discoloured towels. 6 biscuits left out on a plate as a welcome gift. Why bother. A pint of milk or a coffee sachet would have been more appropriate. Location was brilliant!

Wonderful and relaxed stay at Jessamy Cottage. Booked it last minute, and found it all hassle free. Great location with a 2 to 3 minute walk to the town. Very clean and spacious for our needs ( 2 adults and a small dog). The only blemish was the shower. A little tight room wise to shower in, and the shower drain was blocked and the tray quickly filled up with dirty water after showering. Would definately stay again and highly recommend to friends and family.

Ideal quiet spot but turn a corner and you have all the great amenities and walks

We have stayed at Jessamy cottage before and enjoyed our time there. But we have to say, this time around, there were a few small problems with upkeep - and a little care and attention would improve things. For example, the table and chairs by the door are rusty and looked in bad repair; there was no light working at the front door (it is very dark at night and this is a necessity), so we had to fix this. The clothes maiden was broken (tricky to dry our wet clothes without it), there were only 2 glass tumblers (for a cottage for 5 people?) the rest were wine or champagne glasses. I believe it is getting a re-furb at some point, which is great, and we would definitely return then ..... but in the meantime, fixing these small things would make a real difference.
