Set within the highly popular Norfolk Broadside village of Wroxham, Julian’s Retreat is a light and airy detached property which offers everything you need for a great holiday. Using the word ’village’ for Wroxham is at odds with the amount of amazing facilities available. Not only does it boast the largest village shop in the UK, which is actually a large department store and supermarket, it also features lots of great places to eat, drink and shop, many of which you can do waterside. Here you can join a tour along the peaceful waterways or even charter your own day launch and be the captain of your own boat (captain’s hat optional!) Or, you can hop on the Bure Valley Railway and travel across beautiful open countryside to the bustling market town of Aylsham which has lots of lovely artisan shops and cafés.
Wroxham is also on a mainline railway line, which will take you to both the coast and into Norwich. That really is the beauty of this location, you are very close to the stunning North Norfolk Coastline and the beautiful medieval city of Norwich, easily reached by car or train. Head east or west along the coastline and discover a variety of beach habitats including sand dunes, sandy beaches, salt marshes and quays. Visit Horsey and see the seals (seasonal) or head to Great Yarmouth for all the fun of the fair. For a more sedate seaside experience head further west and explore Happisburgh Lighthouse or the lovely wide sandy beaches at Walcott, Bacton, Mundesley and Overstrand. A little further and you will soon be strolling along the imposing Edwardian seafront and pier at Cromer and taking in the sea air. Or, for a complete change of pace do check out the splendid Norman castle in Norwich where you will also find lots of museums, theatres and galleries, a thriving market and the Lanes, which is packed with boutique shops and places to eat. Add in National Trust properties, bird watching opportunities galore, BeWILDerwood, Amazonia Zoo, The Thursford and Muckleborough Collections, North Norfolk Railway, Sheringham Park, Pleasurewood Hills and so much more and you will soon see why guests keep coming back to this lovely part of Norfolk. You can head back to Julian’s Retreat, relax, unwind and congratulate yourself on choosing such a great property. Lovely! Beach 12 miles. Shop ⅓ mile, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
