We did enjoy our stay very much but there are a few things that need attention. The paving through the garden is loose and slippery. The garden is 9ft above road level and there are two areas that a dog could possibly fall through we moved the garden benches to block them and so make it more safe and secure for our dog. The bottom garage and drive which would have been ideal to use was un-accessible. We used the top parking area adjacent to the cottage but this is a very tight turn and with a very steep approach. The cottage is very cosy and comfortable and the location has great views across the countryside. It is very peaceful and away from it all but do make sure you get essentials e.g. bread, milk etc as there is no local shop the nearest would be the garage shop on the main road approx. 10-15 mins away which does stock a good selection but obviously not as extensive and more costly than a supermarket. The cottage has a good wi-fi connection and we had good mobile coverage.

The cottage is in an idyllic location, quiet and so pretty. You need a car but shops etc are within 15 min drive. The cottage itself is quaint and the beds very comfortable. However we felt the overall accommodation was a little expensive for what it was which is why we've only given it a 7 for that question.

We stayed at Kate’s Cottage over New Year and found it to be clean and well equipped. We had specifically looked for a traditional cottage with a log burning fire and we were not disappointed with first fuel supplied and fuel available locally. The cottage is heated mainly by storage heaters but the owners have supplied additonal heaters which worked quickly and efficiently. We felt that the cottage was well placed being within easy access of the main tourist centres but also far enough away to feel we had a quiet break and a lovely outlook. We hope to return.

Lovely quirky cottage. Perfect for me and my little girl. Stunning views and host was lovely giving courtesy before and during our stay to ensure our stay went smoothly. Great location just quick hop in the car and back onto main road in lakes to take you anywhere you desire. Cottage was clean, tidy and well equipped with everything you could need.

Great place as long as you are completely mobile - very difficult steps both inside and out for young and old.

My Mum and I absolutely loved our stay in Kate's Cottage. Everything we needed was there. All cooking utensils, saucepan and serving things were all there. Logs for the fire are provided and lasted us for 3 nights. The beds were comfortable and the showers hot and strong! All was very clean and fresh. The outdoor space is perfect and the views stunning. There is a large shopping centre about 15mins away and a few great pubs a short drive away. Saw many taxis around if these were needed. I can't recommend this place enough and will definitely be returning!

We had a brilliant time in the lakes (as usual), but it was made all the more this time round thanks to our stay at Kate’s Cottage. We found the cottage to more than meet our needs during our stay. It was warm, clean and had everything you could possibly require for a family of four and a small dog. Spacious gardens with a stunning view, WiFi, 2 bathrooms, a real log fire and arguably the comfiest beds in the whole of Cumbria are just a few of the reasons to stay. The only downside is the lack of local amenities. Although not completely remote, Kate’s Cottage is a good few miles from the nearest shop. If you forget something while out getting supplies you either have to start the car up again or do without. Aside from this, it’s brilliant.
