This is also a breeding site for pheasants and it is of utmost importance that dogs are kept on a lead at all times even within the cottage garden which is not fully enclosed.\n If Hansel and Gretel’s cottage had really existed Keeper’s Cottage would have been it Nestled alone in private woodland on a working farm this wonderful little hideaway really is quite magical and a great find as it is a quiet retreat that’s still close to the coast and all the action. From the moment you first pass through the trees and pull up to Keeper’s Cottage you will see why so many guests book to return again and again. Simply furnished to retain its charm it really is just what you need to getaway from the stresses and strains of everyday life. Close by you will find the seaside towns of Sheringham with its bustling market and popular shingle beach and Cromer home to a famous Edwardian seafront promenade wide sandy beach and pier. Take the coast road between the two and pass through pretty seaside villages. In fact travel east or west along this stretch of coast and you will find a string of coastal villages with great places to eat and drink marshes beaches and quays all ready to explore. History buffs will be spoilt for choice with The Thursford and Muckleburgh Collections close by the National Trust properties Felbrigg and Blickling Hall and Sandringham House Holkham Hall and the medieval city of Norwich are all within easy reach. The National Trust Rhododendron and Azalea walk at Sheringham Park in season is one of the country’s finest. After a day’s sightseeing head back to Keeper’s Cottage for a glass of something in the garden or by the wood burner and a great night’s sleep. Beach 3½ miles. Shop pub and restaurant 2 miles. \n " https://img.chooseacottage.co.uk/Property/135/840/1359436.jpg UKC1931

Directions to cottage are dire even the sat nav gives up if you want to explore the area by car be prepared for two dirt tracks to reach the road , overall the cottage fixtures and fittings are getting a little dated for example the fridge has seen better days as has the dvd player cottage seems to lack the personal touch.

Loved this cottage! If you want a quiet, relaxing break away from any demands this is the place! Located out in the countryside, This is a beautiful little cottage with all you need. The fridge is on the small side and it does have the most complicated kettle ever invented but that aside the views are lovely, it's very quiet and the wildlife is amazing, loads of pheasants obviously but also deer, rabbits owls etc. Phone signal is patchy and no WiFi but that adds to having a break. Location wise it's about 10 minutes to both Cromer and Sherringham but it is down country lanes and the lane to the cottage is mainly a dirt track which might be muddy in wet weather. Overall lovely place, everything you need for a holiday, plenty of hot water, washing machine and dryer and a dishwasher, hole up with a good book and some treats and enjoy a week away from the world!

A hidden little gem, off the beaten track and on the edge of beautiful woodland with lots of wildlife. Close to lots of countryside walks and had a fabulous time exploring the North Norfolk coast. Very accessible to lots of different attractions. Suited our family both old and young. The perfect place to switch off from the stress of modern life. Local shops are a drive away and the cottage itself is up a little farm track - but this did not bother us. We’d highly recommend this place and may even look to return one day.

We love Keepers cottage. It's the second time we have stayed here. The weather wasn't so kind to us this time but the cottage kept us warm and cosy. Thus is a very well equipped cottage. But it would definitely benifit from a better TV and dvd player. And free WiFi would be a God send when the weather is bad. And a secure fence would allow for dogs to be free in the garden. Other than that it's the perfect place to unwind with no neighbours for at least a mile. Blissful.

An ideal holiday if you value tranquility and nature as Keepers Cottage is in a beautifully peaceful setting with nearest houses being in East Beckham. We had many walks on footpaths nearby and on one day took the bus from Aylmerton to Cromer as did not want to depend on a car. Felbrigg is within walking distance and to walk around the parkland and woodlands was lovely as was Sheringham Park and woodlands. There was a nature talk/walk on Beeston Regis Common. The Priory Maze cafe near the Common was very good. We did have a drive to the Norfolk Wildlife Trust at Cley marshes, which also has a good cafe, and to the RSPB's Titchwell. It was comforting to return to Keepers Cottage after a long walk as it felt like home from the moment we arrived. The beds were very comfortable and we appreciated all the towels provided. A lovely patio area adopted by two friendly partridges. I would have liked another toilet/sink perhaps coming off one of the bedrooms but cannot fault the cottage for not having this. The drive leading from East Beckham to cottage could perhaps have been levelled more with more sand. We like a property on one level as it feels spacious. We liked the high ceilings and roomy bedrooms. We liked the utility space for provisions and laundry equipment. We loved the gardens surrounding cottage. We did not find where the rotary dryer should go but managed as we used the wire next to hornbeam hedge which was absolutely fine. We took provisions with us and stopped on way to cottage at Aylsham for a few things. We did go to a village shop near The Priory Maze cafe and Sheringham is not too far.

Perfect for a 'get away from it all' holiday. Just family and nature at its best. Perfect peace and quiet. It is the right place to go to have a break from the day to day madness of every day busy living. Walking, running, cycling in perfect surroundings with a welcome relief from the Internet! Back to basic simple living. Only negatives were a very small fridge for 6 people. Ok in winter as we put milk, bottles etc outside but summer could pose a problem. An extra easy chair in the lounge would also make evenings more comfortable. Table in kitchen was fine, but the chairs were too big for the table and made it very difficult to manoeuvre 6 people round the table at meal times.

A lovely, comfortable cottage in an idyllic position. Peace and quiet assured. Not far from all coastal towns and many walks and bird reserves.
