Renovated in 2019, this semi-detached cottage offers quality accommodation only a few steps from the action. Keeva’s Cottage is ideal for families and couples and can sleep up to four guests. On the ground floor you’ll find a bright and airy living room and the well equipped kitchen/dining room, perfect for a family feast, but with such a great selection of restaurants within easy reach, you may not want to cook at all. At the side of the property, guests will benefit from a small, south facing yard which gets the sun most of the day. Cockermouth offers a great selection of dining options all within two minutes’ walk, you’ll find some fantastic pubs serving locally produced cask ales and fine food as well as Italian restaurants, gastro pubs, deli’s, independent coffee shops, fast food and takeaways. Its vibrant centre is an amazing place with lovely walks along the river and a range of independent speciality shops. If you want a bit of culture you can visit Wordsworth House, just 200 yards away, the birthplace of William Wordsworth. Cross the river to feed the ducks and let the kids play in the memorial gardens, 300 yards away or you can swim at the local leisure pool. Nestled beneath the castle walls you’ll find the famous Jennings Brewery where tours are available with tastings and bottled beers to take away.
A stay at Keeva’s Cottage gives you the best of both worlds, surrounded on three sides by the Lake District National Park which means you can choose between the rugged, mountainous scenery of The Lakes and the sandy beaches and cycle tracks of the West Cumbrian coastline. A short car ride and you can reach Bassenthwaite Lake, 6½ miles away and the backdrop of Skiddaw, one of the highest mountains in England, offering fantastic walking and cycle routes, as well as an osprey viewpoint. Bassenthwaite is also home to The Lake District Wildlife Park offering a fun day out for all the family and The Lakes Distillery with good food and tasting tours. The popular town of Keswick is 14 miles away and can be reached by car in about 20 minutes.
