Absolutely great location. Great cycling and walking. Pub just around the corner. Will definitely be back.

We come here every year in the winter and spring, it is an excellent location for getting onto the trails and exploring Kielder from the doorstep. The cottage is always immaculate when we arrive and is a welcome place to come back to after a day out, very warm and comfortable.

Our bed was very comfortable, as was the heating as we were cosy on some very cold nights; the bath was a lovely double ended luxury bath, slightly spoiled with the over-large shower mixer tap; we loved the dining area in a sweet conservatory; though pots and pans were a little tired. Overall we had a lovely weekend and it was perfect for the Kielder Observatory, only 10 minutes away! Highly recommend the cottage and would come back.

Very warm but no carpets take your slippers.

This was our 3rd time staying at this brilliant cottage. The cottage is in a peaceful location, it is warm and cosy and has everything you need. Really feels like a home from home.when you have been out all day walking in the forest or have had a bit of a drive out ( Jedburgh and Hadrians wall) it is soooo nice to come back to the warmth of the cottage. Even on a rainy day you can’t help but smile at the peace and quiet this cottage gives you. If your looking for a place to stay that is away from busy roads and noisy neighbours this is the place to book. Obviously you need to bring your own food and provisions as it is a self catering cottage but once your there the kitchen is well stocked with utensils and cookware. The beds are comfy, we always have a great nights sleep. The anglers arm pub on the site has lovely food and the walks around the castle are lovely. Every time we have stayed in this cottage it is spotlessly clean and welcoming thanks to the brilliant housekeeper and owner. We will be back. Thanks again Kielder cottage The Maratty Family

A wonderful location and perfect for our holiday needs. The cottage is clean and spacious with a great outdoor space. The location of Kielder is beautiful and a great base for exploring both sides of the border and even without using the car plenty to explore on foot and the pub so close on the way back to rehydrate after a long walk.

The cottage was in a brilliant location and the beds were comfortable . This was however spoilt by the smell of the bedding and towels which smelled like they had been left in the washing machine for a couple of days then dried !!. There was no hairdryer , the only glasses were wine glasses . The non stick pans were all scratched as there were only metal utensils .The microwave was in a dangerous condition with paint missing inside . We had one tea towel for the week and one bin liner for the bin . The only decent mirror was very high above the fireplace , the bedroom ones were very small shaving type mirrors . There was nothing in the cupboards eg cling film , plastic tubs , cooking oil etc . We had to travel all the way to Hawick to buy a hairdryer , glasses, wooden spoons etc . Caretaker very unhelpful , we had to call them as the heating wasn't working . They said someone must have stolen the hairdryer and they don't leave anything in the cupboards for health and safety !!!! I love Kielder but would not stay at this cottage again .

Great place for everyone. Cottage could do with a few extras just to enhance the experience but we will definitely go back.

    Nice cottage, excellent location.

Superb location. The cottage was clean. Lovely welcome pack. The kitchen is a tad rudimentary and could be better equipped with crockery and such like. It was comfortable and a great spot to explore nearby. Very peaceful and quiet. The area where the fridge/freezer sits needs some attention as it smells very odd. The details need to be updated to reflect that the shop closed a few months ago. The nearest shop is now the Co-op in Bellingham. The local pub, The Angler’s Arms, served good food with lovely service.

No longer a village shop which meant we had to drive all the way to Bellingham for the tea bags we’d forgotten to pack! Nice cottage in a nice location opposite the castle. Good walking all around especially from Leaplish water Park. Pub/restaurant was good there too.

we enjoyed the holiday. Certain areas could be improved.Informed there was a village store but that was not the case.

Lovely clean cottage X all facilities were fine X great location for walks . Long way to go to supermarket in Bellingham but that was lovely village. Just needed an outside light to be able to see the dog in the garden at night

A superb little cottage ideally situated for outdoor activities around Kielder. It is always spotlessly clean, warm and welcoming, which is why we return again and again!
