    > "Charming cottages situated in a scenic holiday location, which form an ideal base from which to explore the stunning scenery of the North Yorkshire Coast..."

Killerby Old Hall and its 7 cottages are ideal for a countryside holiday whilst being less than 2 miles from the beach of Cayton Bay. Guests can enjoy the nature reserve and lake area, or relax in the indoor heated swimming pool. The accommodation ranges from the Old Hall, sleeping 10 in period splendour, through to cosy Crow’s Nest which sleeps 2. Set in a pretty courtyard, each cottage is different yet has its own sitting-out area with patio furniture and BBQ.

Killerby Old Hall is situated between the coastal resorts of family friendly Filey, with its cobble landing and pretty promenade, and Scarborough, with its vibrant South Bay and naturally picturesque North Bay, located on part of Britain’s heritage coast. The Stephen Joseph Theatre, famed throughout the county, puts on a number of Alan Aykbourn productions. To the north, across the stunning North Yorkshire Moors, lies the port of Whitby; famous for its connections to Captain James Cook and Dracula. Robin Hood’s Bay, a former fishing village with a smugglers past, has quaint streets which lead visitors to a small, sandy cove and rock pools. Heading inland, find the historic market town of Pickering, where the famous North Yorkshire Moors steam train begins its journey. Access Dalby Forest through the attractive village of Thornton-le-Dale and be sure to stop for an ice cream. The forest offers a range of activities including mountain bike tracks, or for those feeling adventurous there is Go Ape. It is also a popular picnic destination which is surrounded by walks that the whole family can enjoy. Travel a little further afield to Castle Howard with its stunning house and grounds. The ancient, Roman walled city of York sits just an hour up the A64, a famously haunted city with many attractions such as the railway museum, river trips and excellent shopping. To the south along the coast, the Cleveland Way leads to dramatic Flamborough Head and the Bempton RSPB Sanctuary. The village of Cayton is a 500 yard stroll, with its pub, post office and shop. Full amenities are just over 4 miles away in Scarborough. Shop and pub 500 yards.

Redwood (KTQ) and Chestnut (IDS) lie close to one another and can be booked together to accommodate up to 12 guests whilst retaining the privacy of two separate homes.

Superb house for large group-9-10- very comfortable with little to fault-location OK and available outside space quite wonderful for young and older children. A little deceptive about location of games room-away from house. Some TLC required on interiors. Some kitchen equipment strangely absent- eg baking trays and cooking dishes. Pool fine - overall excellent venue.

Amazing venue to get together with friends, would highly recommend, Couldn’t fault it except for some flies but they were easily enough managed with a tin of fly spray! I think the world is too big to go back to the same place twice but this is the first place that I’d definitely use again

Had a lovely stay, very clean. Kitchen well equipped and immaculate. Only a few niggles and constructive observations. , Ensuite to one of bedrooms bit grotty and old. Other bathrooms modern, lovely. Maybe it's an ongoing refurb. Front door had no handle and window smashed and taped up but to be fair may have only just happened so maybe time factor to repair. Hallway in need of a paint, maybe a cream, would make more of an impact as you come through door instead of red with a green carpet. Again that's nothing major but just a thought. Large lovely gardens to front and rear. Ideal location for getting out and about. There is a shared pool, which was quite cold so didn't stay in very long. Changing rooms and area around pool seemed a bit grotty. Steps into pool very loose, one side not fastened. Just few niggles but overall a lovely stay and would stay again.

Killerby Hall was lovely and cosy with 3 big master bedrooms and welcoming lounges. The shared bathrooms and kitchen looked as though they had been renovated fairly recently and were impressive. I think the house must be being renovated in stages as there were bits of shabbiness here and there and the two twin bedrooms could do with a bit of loving care but would be fine for kids. We used the kitchen a lot and felt a bit more light in there would have been helpful. Some holiday houses provide things like cling film, tin foil, spare cloths etc. but they weren't available here so bring your own! Overall, we really enjoyed our break at the house.
