Kippford is a scenic coastal village on the Solway Firth and sits on a tidal inlet with a pretty ‘no cars’ coastal road leading to cockle shell beaches, gentle forest and grassy paths, all with views to islands in the bay. It offers an abundance of walks and has a public pier for watercraft. A National Trust path joins it to Rockcliffe, where there is a sandy beach. Perhaps best of all only a short stroll takes you to two excellent seafront pubs!
Your four-legged friends won’t feel left out either with a dog friendly pub and beach close by. A short drive away from Laurel Lodge this beautiful area has much to offer. Try your hand at the 7stanes mountain biking courses at Dalbeattie Forest, the zip wire, and mountain balling at Laggan or enjoy the many historic castles, National Trust gardens and the RSPB sites the region offers. For the younger guests there are ice cream farms and even a chocolate factory – plenty for the whole family to enjoy. Beach 1 mile. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 500 yards.
Laurel Lodge can be booked together with Bluebell Lodge (UK10955) to accommodate up to 12 guests.
