We've already booked for next year we loved it so much! But if you need more info... We consider ourselves 'seasoned' and frequent users of holiday cottages and in our experience one would be hard pushed to beat what Kirkbride Farmhouse has to offer. The farmhouse is not overlooked and offers amazing views across the sea. The large enclosed garden is well kept and great for bird watching. It is a short trip to the beach, which is one of the best we've enjoyed and would suite all ages. Kirkbride caters for all needs and is spacious and well equipped with good quality fixtures and fittings and bedding. The owner is very considerate and incredibly helpful - leaving a lovely tea/coffee tray with homemade chocolate cake and pint of milk on arrival and also went out of her way to deliver some medication we'd forgotten. We spent 2 wonderful weeks and would highly recommend this holiday home - roll on next summer!

What a lovely spot. Dumfries and Galloway is a hidden gem and Kirkbride Farmhouse is the perfect place to explore from. The house was clean tidy perfect for a family of 6 and probably the best equipped holiday home we’ve stayed in. The view from the sun room was something I didn’t get bored of and the big garden was perfect for four teenagers to get rid of excess energy. A lovely home made cake was waiting for us on arrival. Would highly recommended the farmhouse.

This is an absolutely beautiful location and a stunning house, our stay here was wonderful we wanted for nothing, we will be booking again. Our friends who we took with us, said it was the best, stress free holiday they have ever had. Thank you so much, the owner is so polite and helpful too!

A nice house in a good location. As a family of 5 we had plenty of room in the house to spread ourselves out. The sun-room was a good additional space that we enjoyed. The house was kept really warm by the central heating. The house is mostly surrounded by fields so is very private. There is a farm building next door, but there was no noise or disruption from there during our stay. The outlook from the house is nice, looking over Wigtown Bay. The A75 is between the house and the coast, but it is plenty far enough from the house to not be at all disruptive. The kitchen is well equipped and we had no trouble finding everything we needed to cook meals.

we had a lovely stay here, quite private and lovely cake waiting for us on arrival- we thought that was a lovely touch. The farmhouse is very cosy and well equipped. A great base for Dumfries & Galloway, we visited the Isle of Whithorn, Portpatrick, Threave Castele, Kirkcudbright, Crafty distillery. The galloway forest is worth a visit (and otter pools on raiders raod - but closed now over winter) If you visit the deer park, dont forget some carrots) Not a huge amount of eateries closely, but still only 10 mins away at Newton Stewart/Gatehouse of Fleet. The Lairds Inn is the closest at Creetown and do some tea time specials. We had sunday lunch carvery at the Crown inn at Newton Stewart and would recommend it. The view from the conservatory is wonderful, the only downside it is a bit chilly in winter, probably fine once the logburner is on, but we spent our time in the sitting room. We wouldnt hesitate to recommend this holiday let and hope to return.

We have stayed at Kirkbride numerous times, it is lovely and clean and has everything you could want catered for. It is a short drive away from locally amenities along with activities i.e. beach, forest walks, museums, nature reserves, gardens. The owner Janet, has sourced lots of leaflets to help you decide where and what you might like to do while staying at the cottage. It also has a large enclosed garden which our dog loves. We think of it as a home away from home.

Fantastic views from the sun-room and bedrooms, and far enough up the hill to mute the noise from the A75, this property has a great location. We were very warmly welcomed by Janet, the owner, and the place was spotless and very comfortable. In fact every member of the party reckoned that we slept better in the farmhouse beds than we do at home! A more generous allowance of loo rolls and bin bags would have made it perfect. One caveat: the long, steep dirt track to the house was no problem to us in our 4x4 (even on the one day it poured non-stop and made the track slick and slippery) but a coupe might struggle.
