Excellent location for exploring Galloway forest. Cottage lovely and clean, well equipped. We stayed for one week, would have loved to have stayed longer. Looking to return next spring.

Had a great week, 2 couples and two dogs. Safe enclosed garden for the dogs. Modern clean interior. Lovely, fresh, white bed linen. Good base for exploring the area. Walks from the doorstep

A beautiful cottage which was exceptionally clean. Very comfortable sofas and beds and well stocked kitchen. Excellent WiFi signal and NOW tv channels. Location was perfect for exploring Dumfries and Galloway. There was no hair dryer in the cottage so remember to take your own (I didn't). The double bedroom has a skylight above the bed with no blind on and the vertical blinds on the other window let the light through. I'm sure this won't bother most people but I'm used to black out blinds so I was awake at 5 am every morning which was a little annoying. However this would not stop me returning as it was such a lovely home. There was a lovely welcome pack when we arrived. The finishing touches in this cottage really made a difference. Wonderful!

A lovely spacious cottage, very bright, clean with a generous welcome pack on arrival. Enclosed rear garden but with steps up to lawn, tricky for elderly member of our group. Good scenic walks within a few yards of cottage, especially good if you've got a dog with you. Local amenities in Newton Stewart met all of our needs. There were a few downsides such as: There were no blackout blinds/curtains at bedroom windows. It is incredibly bright early morning as windows face east. Uncovered velux over bedhead in one room. No coat hooks provided downstairs, important for drying wet coats etc. No written instructions for TV, a bit challenging for these non IT savvy visitors! Feel simple privacy locks or signs should be provided on bathroom doors. Didn't expect the last 200 yards of approach road to be so pot holed, rutted and quite steep..again tricky for the less able, mobility wise.

The cottage was nice, met our needs well and we would definitely go back. Good standard and clean, and love that dogs are welcome. Sofa is super comfy as were the beds.

Spacious, modern and spotlessly clean cottage including lovely soft white towels! Helpful owners and great location for seeing what Dumfries and Galloway has to offer.

Very poor roadway leading to the cottage. Cottage not well signposted (not signposted at all!). Poor hot water supply for four people. No 'garden' apart from rough lawn with no outdoor furniture at back. Bath needs an overhead shower. No full length mirror or hair dryer. Unable to have ordinary channels on tv apart from in a very convolutated way! Mattresses in twin bedded room thin and a bit bumpy. Darker curtains or blinds needed to block out very early morning sun. Nice people though!

Absolutely beautiful cottage, stunning! Everything you would ever need.Owners very thoughtful. Fantastic location, walks from your doorstep. Newton Stewart has all the amenities and is easy to walk or drive. We would highly recommend, our dogs were welcomed too. We will definitely be staying again.

The cottage was modern and well furnished, although the kitchen could do with some more utensils. The place was warm and cosy and easy to live in. Somewhere to hang coats in the entrance would be good. Overall it was a good place to stay.
