Kissing Tree Cottage is an old miner’s terraced cottage dating back to the 1800s, which has been lovingly restored and modernised, making it a perfect place for a romantic break or a family holiday. The living room benefits from a wood burner and Smart TV, and also has French doors overlooking the peaceful garden which, due to the old boundaries, is at an angle to the left of the French doors, at the rear of the property. The private garden is ideal for relaxing in and enjoying a drink. Many different types of birds visit, and there’s a chiminea if it gets chilly, and a wonderful summerhouse for relaxing in as well.
Middleton Tyas is a small, thriving village in beautiful North Yorkshire. It enjoys a tranquil, rural setting and yet is only a mile or so east of the A1 at Scotch Corner. Durham city is alive with an eclectic mix of history and attractions from the dramatic cathedral to the cobbled shopping area. Another historic beauty in the area is Castle Bolton where Mary Queen of Scots was held for six months. This well preserved ancient castle sits proudly at the head of the village and attracts many tourists who are in awe of the grandeur of this magnificent structure surrounded by stunning countryside. Head to the east and you will enter the North York Moors where you’ll find everything from waterfalls to a steam train ride in the centre of the national park and the quaint village of Goathland, made famous by the TV show ’Heartbeat’. Had a lovely time at Kissing Tree Cottage over Christmas week, what a great little hideaway. Exceptionally friendly and helpful owners, cute and cosy cottage in a beautiful village setting, excellent village pub just up the road, superb! We wouldn't hesitate to book here if we're ever looking for something in that area again, didn't want to leave.

Family holiday with a 4 year old. We had the best time! Lovely cottage with fab garden for young children. The pub was only a 5 minute walk through a very quaint village and served fabulous food, Sunday lunch was the best pub Sunday lunch we have had! The cottage owners couldnt have be more helpful, they even loaned us a scooter and football for our little boy! We visited nearby Richmond which was a beautiful market town with the most amazing waterfalls hidden away, and a lovely castle. Easby Abbey was also in Richmond, which our 4 year old loved, rock climbing and exploring the ruins. We also visited saltburn which was just over an hour away a charming small seaside town with a lovely beach. We had a lovely holiday making memories!
