Tucked away down a private track near the famous Cock Bridge and Corgarff Castle, this delightful little detached cottage has been lovingly renovated to a very good standard, and is a haven of peace and tranquillity amidst stunning scenery. Stylish, comfortable furnishings, in a blend of contemporary and traditional, complement the character of the cottage, and the surrounding, totally secluded garden is protected by fir trees, making it a real suntrap. Plenty of wildlife can be seen here in the undisturbed surroundings, ranging from deer to birds of prey, grouse, ptarmigan and mountain hares. The cottage lies in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park, directly on the route to The Lecht, and visitors have a huge range of activities on offer here on one of the highest main roads in the UK. The mountains rise up to 2,700ft, and are ideal for skiing, snowboarding and, in summer, mountain biking; the Lecht Activity Centre has all equipment available for hire, as well as a café and shop. Medieval Corgarff Castle is well worth a visit, and has a turbulent history incorporating whisky smuggling, and another use was as an army garrison in 1746. This is a wonderful area for touring amongst great scenery, and Balmoral Castle, Ballater, Aviemore, Tomintoul and the Whisky Trail are all within an easy drive. Café with free internet access 1 mile. Shops, pubs and restaurants 9 miles.

We had the best time in this secluded cottage, deer, red squirrels and rabbits all come to visit. Stunning location, quality decor and fittings. If you want some time “ off the grid” this is for you.

Had a great time. The cottage was beautiful inside and out. Excellent amenities within the cottage. The location was perfect. Just off the main road but you would never know. Lovely stream running alongside the garden which the dogs loved. Plenty of bunnies for company as well as daily visits from a stunning red squirrel.

Lovely cottage in a great location, very quiet & peaceful, high standard of furnishings & equipment, the log burner was brilliant, very warm & cosy but the electric radiators were not effective at giving out much heat. We loved watching the red squirrels & rabbits, overall we had a brilliant stay & would love to visit again

Really lovely cottage in a stunning, remote location. Very comfortable with everything needed for a memorable stay, and great walks close by. If you want local amenities including pubs, supermarkets, and shops go somewhere else; this is wild Scotland at its best. Just one word of advice; if snow is forecast park your car at the end of the long track leading to the cottage. We didn't and woke up to 3ft snowdrifts blocking us in! We had a great time and look forward to returning in the future.

In a dense wood so light somewhat restricted. Location is fabulous if you want complete isolation. Nearby amenities problematic - good cafe 2-3 mls away. Ballater 20 min drive or so. Surrounding hills fabulous. Good if you’re looking for a digital detox. Saying that it was what my wife (plus 2 Labrador’s) and I actually were looking for

Fabulous cottage, perfect for two and a pooch, the owners have gone to great lengths to make it a dog friendly place, with blankets for pets to lie on, it is much more than a 'dogs tolerated' cottage, very very welcoming. Facilities are superb, and very high end appliances make it a wonderful place to be.

Had a wonderful week here, wish it had been longer. Fantastic walks, cozy nights in and great base for exploring. Honestly nothing to complain about, whilst the nearest shop is a little ways from you you really have no issue, we shopped before arrival and then poped to local shops whilst we were out and about. Big love for this little slice of heaven, comfortable for dogs and their humans, everyone of us catered for in a cottage that automatically feels like home. Thanks for everything!

Wonderful cottage with exquisite décor and everything needed for a proper family holiday. Brilliant for dogs with a long trail behind the home. Very tastefully decorated and a good location with just enough amenities (Goodyear Ross store, SPAR grocer) locally. Great find!
