Laker Hall Farmhouse is in a rural location just outside the village of Newton, which has a shop, pub and restaurant.
A visit to Corbridge is a must. Situated just 4 miles from Laker Hall Farmhouse, it is a picturesque village sitting on the banks of the River Tyne, renowned for its charming shops, quaint tea rooms and several restaurants and pubs. Corbridge is only a few miles from Hadrian’s Wall, where walkers and cyclists can explore the many historic paths and roads that were once walked by the Romans.
The property is in an ideal location for those attending weddings at Matfen Hall, visiting the High House Farm Brewery or Vallum Farm, or fishing on the nearby reservoir at Welton. From Laker Hall Farmhouse, you could go on a daytrip to the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with moorlands and rolling countryside, or head north to the coastal beaches and castles featured in Harry Potter, only and hour’s drive away.
The beautiful cities of Durham and Newcastle upon Tyne are both easily accessible. In Newcastle you will find the Newcastle Metro Centre, a must for the shopaholic, or take the time to explore Durham, where there is always something going on, no matter the time of year, with jazz festivals, arts festivals and Durham Brass Festival, to name a few.
