    Kitchen: With electric oven and hob (Aga not in use), larder fridge and dishwasher; dining table and chairs; a light, bright spacious room with fitted units throughout
    Utility: With microwave, table top freezer, tumble dryer and washing machine
    Bathroom: With bath, WC and wash basin.

    First Floor:
    Bedroom 1: With king size bed and en suite shower cubicle, WC and wash basin
    Bedroom 2: With king size bed
    Bedroom 3: With two single beds and en suite small shower, WC and wash basin
    Bedroom 4: With single bed and occasional bed (for + 1 ) if required
    Bathroom: With bath, shower, WC and wash basin

    All oil, electricity, bed linen and towels included. First supply of fuel for open fire provided.

    Enclosed (very low wall on one side) garden with dining table and chairs. Table tennis table and storage space for outdoor equipment available in garage. Off road parking for two cars.

    Langdale is a delightful, late Victorian detached house set well back in its own garden grounds close to the centre of the Royal Deeside village of Ballater. Its generously proportioned rooms and high ceilings ensure a sense of space and light throughout. The house has been sympathetically modernised to provide all modern comforts whilst retaining the ambience of a Victorian family home. There is a large modern kitchen with breakfast table and chairs, a separate more formal dining room and an extremely spacious main lounge that looks out across the gardens. A small snug/library provides a quiet space for reading or poring over the local maps, planning the next day’s activities. The beautiful original curved wooden staircase splits into two dividing the four bedrooms across the first floor into two adjoining areas. All bedrooms are large and airy. With two en suite and two further bathrooms, this is an ideal property for a two family holiday or groups.

    The house is beautiful and met all of our needs. My family and I had a wonderful time here. The location is perfect with beautiful walks close by and Craigendarroch was stunning from the top. The village is lovely and the people are friendly. We would happily stay here again.

    We are repeat visitors to Langdale and it feels very homely - it is a lovely house. There are a few niggles that don't necessarily spoil the holiday but if sorted, would make it perfect. What are these niggles? There's no WiFi The TV signal is poor - we are sure it could be sorted with a bit of attention The house feels a little like it needs someone to keep an eye on things a bit more - so two of the taps don't have plugs in them; the downstairs bathroom hot tap is on the way out - it sometimes works, sometimes doesn't; the TV remote control has lost its back; the DVD player remote control batteries were dead; the lamps in the lounge flicker - there seems to be a problem with the switch; the upstairs bathroom toilet doesn't work very well and there are quite a lot of plumbing noises coming from it...The gates also need a bit of maintenance. There were only three of us, but the fridge is small for a bigger group. The crockery and pots and pans are starting to look their age and use. There was not an overly generous supply of loo rolls, either! That said, it really is a beautiful house and we have loved staying there - we'd quite happily move in and stay! It is in a great location - near enough to the village centre, but really peaceful.

    Fantastic location in the heart of the village. Lovely shops and restaurants. House is very spacious and informal but perhaps could do with a little updating. However this is a minor concern as the owner, and the lady who cleans go out of their way to be helpful and considerate

    Langdale was a great spacious house for our family, we spent time in the garden too which was lovely with all the garden seating. Beds were comfortable and it was great to have 4 bathrooms. The only thing missing was wifi which the house would benefit from.

    Holiday was great. A couple of little niggles with house but fairly minor really. These were, 1. No WiFi (as far as I could find). This may have been stated on the house details but I didn’t see it. We got by okay without it but it could be a dealbreaker for some. 2. Bins, previous party hadn’t dealt with bins and very limited recycling facilities in Ballater so ended up taking it home. As I said, fairly minor but worth highlighting.
