Good location, 30 seconds from the canal towpath. Pub within a 20 minutes walk, the Aquaduct Inn. Area is beautiful, Chirk is within a mile and a half, it has all the amenities you will need. Llangollen is a 10 minute drive and is very pleasant, go early to ensure a parking space. Re: the Aquaduct Inn; bar staff very friendly, food is fantastic, no frozen ingredients. Personally, it's some of the best pub food I've ever had. Cottage is small, but is excellent, it wants for nothing. Only problem is that the garden is adjacent to the next cottage and not attached to Libbys Lodge.

Lovely superbly equipped cottage. Garden not attached and have to go through other holidaymakers privacy to get to it so not ideal. Noisy Alsations at property nearby with non stop barking. A shame for this cottage. Overall a great stay but because of the negatives wouldn't return.

Retired couple wanting proximity to daughter in Acrefair and access to lovely North Wales scenery, for us it was brilliant. Furnishing perhaps a little tired, but perfectlly acceptable, and the TV was top notch. Car parking relied on co-operation of neighbouring letting and was problematical. Apart from car journies, which were fine (Chirk, Powess etc), a walk along the canal, the adjacent wild life and the view of the Viaduct were (almost) worth the money on their own. All in all an enjoyable and peaceful 4-day break. So, yes, we would consider returning.

We enjoyed staying at the cottage very much. The location was fantastic. The garden, although detached from the house was secure for our dogs and the views were hard to beat. The cottage was clean and comfortable and had all the facilities we needed and more. It was a little dark inside, the windows being small, but as a base to walk and explore it was great.

A very small but comfortable cottage adequate for my needs for the week. The only drawback was that the garden was not right next to the house but adjoining the house on the other side of the track not practical when you have two dogs The area is beautiful with lots of lovely walks.

A very pleasant week; beautiful scenery and a lot of local wildlife...rabbits,birds and squirrels. Great walks along canal side and plenty to see and do locally...canal boat rides and steam trains as well as castles and N.T . places to visit. Be prepared to keep a dog on a lead outside the property though as the surrounding area is not fenced off but there is going to be a garden that can be sat in just opposite the property. Libbey's Lodge is very clean and the owner, Helen is very helpful.

This is my 3rd time @ Libby’s Lodge. Fabulous location with plenty of Wildlife, Wonderful walks, close to local amenities, well equipped, spotlessly clean, excellent free WiFi and value for money and very comfortable. Helen the owner gave me a free upgrade to her bigger cottage ( Canalside) opposite Libby’s Lodge again all of the above applied to (Canalside). The hot tub was amazing, as was the conservatory too. Again excellent free WiFi upstairs and downstairs. Thank you Helen, nothing was too much trouble to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, again there was a bottle of wine and milk in the fridge on arrival. I cannot envisage staying anywhere else when visiting Chester, I’m so glad I stumbled across Libby’s Lodge. I will be returning again later this year and for many years to come.

What a wonderful find, lovely little cottage ideal for walks, local amenities are what you expect no shops or pubs on the doorstep but are within a short journey, peaceful location by the towpath and a very friendly owner who works tirelessly to make your stay a pleasure. Will definitely be going back to Libby's in the future.

unbeatable location, well equipped, considering it lets dogs stay there you would never know it. Although the owner may come over abrupt she is well meaning approachable and happy to solve any problem you may have. For instance we had no wifi for the first 2 days(this was resolved quickly) and the dvd player never worked. For us, the size of the cottage was acceptable but some may say cramped, but it was lovely to come home to in the evenings. Must mention the gang of squirrels which put on a dazzling display for us each morning along with the various birds.
