There are many attractions of scenic and historical interest within easy reach, including Culloden battlefield, Fort George and Cawdor and Brodie Castles. Or why not take a trip along the Malt Whisky Trail – the only one of its kind in the world! Visit some of the beautifully scenic fishing villages and unspoilt beaches of the Moray coastline – voted one of the world’s top 20 coastal destinations! You can take a boat trip to hopefully catch sight of the famous bottlenose dolphins. Inverness, the vibrant Highland capital, is only 14 miles away, and here you will find a large variety of shops, fine restaurants, pubs, theatre, museums and galleries. Amongst the many activities available in the area are boats trips and water sports on Loch Ness (good monster spotting area) and also the Moray coast. There are mountain bike tracks, with serveral literally on the doorstep, and walking in the many forest trails. Photographers will find a huge abundance of bird and wildlife on the doorstep; you will be spoilt for choice.
