What a find!!! If you want shops, pubs, restaurants etc within a 15 mins walk, this is NOT the place for you. However, if you don't mind a short drive (under 10 mins) to a fabulous local eatery, or 15 mins to a town, eg Hereford, and you love peace, tranquility, a comfortable stay and lots of varied walking from the doorstep - this IS the place for you. Annette and Malcolm are lovely hosts, very friendly, welcoming and helpful. They have created a lovely comfortable and relaxing place to stay in such beautiful surroundings. It was a real privilege to be able to walk across their grounds, meeting Pow Wow the horse, the sheep and the guinea fowl on the way. We enjoyed walks in the woods, along local footpaths and even walked down to the river Wye (3 miles), using the lanes and footpaths. NB it is a gentle climb on the way back! We were very fortunate with the weather and only had one drizzly day. It was great just sitting in the beautiful gardens, catching up on some books and appreciating nature. There is a lovely spot down by the pond where you can sit in the afternoon sun watching the dragonflies doing their acrobatics. Two duelling robins flew in through the open door one lunchtime - not sure who was the most surprised! We were able to visit family near Builth Wells while we were there (1.5 hours drive). We had lovely meals at the Cottage of Content at Carey, and the New Harp Inn at Hoarwithy, both under 10 mins by car, dog friendly and serving excellent food. The lanes can be quite narrow, but there are passing places and it is not very busy. Harry and Tess, our two dogs, thoroughly enjoyed their week away too and appreciated the varied walks and the lovely gardens. Thanks again, Annette and Malcolm, we definitely hope to visit again.

A lovely cottage set in peaceful and picturesque surroundings. Great area for walking with or without a dog including the owners land and conveniently located for sightseeing around the county. Cottage well equipped and comfortable for two. Welcomed with a cream tea!

A wonderful relaxing location with beautiful views and within easy distance of the beautiful city of Hereford. This is a spectacularly lovely county with the Black mountains bordering Wales and the Black and white villages. there are many walks from Little Trilloes, one of which leads to the river Wye. If I were religious I would have to describe Herefordshire as Gods own county - it is all very beautiful. The final icing on the cake was to wake at 3.am one very clear night and find the sky illuminated by thousands of stars and owls calling to each other.
