Ty Ceiniog (Penny House), named after the cat who used the barns as a hiding place before the building works, has been converted from a range of old barns, with a tiled floor, underfloor heating and a large open plan living/dining and kitchen space, which leads directly to a delightful patio garden via the French doors from the living area. You will find this especially handy if you are bringing your pet on holiday as it is fully enclosed. Upstairs is the family bathroom and a bedroom with a kingsize bed and TV, and a twin bedroom which can also be made up with the zip and link option to another kingsize bed. The barbecue in the garden supplied initial charcoal for your first use.
Rainbow Cottage, is one of the two semi-detached cottages available. It is a traditional and very comfortable cottage for four people, with an L-shaped kitchen/dining room which leads to a separate living room. There is also a conservatory with exposed stonework, which is shared with the owners, with separate, private entrances, and overlooks the smallholding yard. On the first floor there is a double bedroom with a TV and a family bathroom. The staircase to the second floor leads directly into a further twin bedroom.
The cottages are just 3 miles from the pretty seaside town of New Quay, where the houses cling to the rocks above the harbour which overlooks the beautiful Cardigan Bay. Here, you will find an array of little shops, cafés and restaurants and of course, being the seaside, fish and chips and an ice cream parlour! Take a stroll down to the harbour and sit on the wall and look out for bottlenose dolphins – they are almost daily visitors to these parts. You can take a boat trip if you want try and see them and lots of other fascinating wildlife including porpoises and Atlantic grey seals. The beaches are long, soft and sandy, so kick off your shoes and take a walk or have a go at crab fishing. There are four lovely beaches in New Quay and there are dog friendly ones all year round, if you are bringing your four legged friend on holiday with you. There are numerous other beautiful coves to discover within a short drive and if you feel energetic there is 60 miles of coastal path to explore on foot in Ceredigion. Do make sure you visit Llangrannog, Cwmtydu, Tresaith and Penbryn and the larger towns of Cardigan and Aberystwyth, as well as the Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron. There’s castles and culture, seaside and salty air, and wildlife and wilderness all waiting for you here.
Whichever cottage you choose, there are lovely walks from the cottages and a designated cycle route is adjacent to the grounds. The owners, who also live on site, will make you feel very welcome and tell you about the area and if the chickens are laying, will provide you with fresh eggs too! Beach 3½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

Marie and Bob are fantastic hosts and the cottage is a credit to them. From the moment I booked Marie was in contact and she was ready with a warm welcome as soon as we arrived. The cottage has been renovated to a very high standard and is absolutely spotlessly clean. Everything is immaculate. There is everything you need for a proper home from home holiday, we literally wanted for nothing, the cottage is so well equipped. The welcome pack of fresh eggs from the resident chickens, locally baked welsh cakes, milk and lovely Taylor’s coffee bags was gratefully received. There is also coffee, tea and sugar readily available. There is an Xbox with games for the children, which Bob kindly set up for us before we arrived, and a fantastic library of books, games, DVD’s and CD’s too should the weather take a turn for the worst. It was great to have our own private garden too with table and chairs, there is also a brick BBQ but we didn’t use it. It was lovely just to sit out in the evening, listen to the birds and watch the sun set. We just loved being so close to the coast but removed from the crowds, it is truly a fantastic location. Our dogs were well catered for too with beds, blankets, towels, bowls and even treats provided. They really enjoyed their stay and loved the garden to run around in. I would not hesitate to recommend Ty Ceiniog, we enjoyed our week so much and will definitely be back again. 10/10 across the board. Thank you Marie and Bob for a wonderful stay xxx

Marie was very welcoming. Marie had arranged milk, eggs and Welsh cakes on arrival. We had DVDs to watch, books to read and puzzles to do if we wanted. New Quay was the nearest place to visit. Carmarthen and Aberystwyth was around a 40 minute drive away. A good holiday.
