Wonderful forest coastal and lochside walks from the doorstep and direct cycling access into Dalbeattie Forest - one of the ‘7 Stanes’. The delightful sailing village of Kippford with two pubs and the beaches of Rockcliffe and Sandyhills are just over 2 miles away. RSPB Mersehead and National Trust properties are nearby.     This was our second stay at Loch View a lovely clean, cosy and well equipped holiday cottage. Great location for exploring the Solway Coast, countryside and Dalbeattie Forest trails. Dog friendly and owners very helpful and friendly. Hope to return next year.

    Lochview is a lovely cottage, with many thoughtful features provided to help us feel at home. It's very private, with a pleasant patio area at the side and a rear garden surrounded by fields. There is a road at the front, but even in peak summer we didn't notice much traffic. The local shop is well stocked and only a short walk away. It's quite a long walk to the nearest beach, although only a few minutes by car.

    We had a lovely week. The cottage was excellent in every way. Well furnished, spacious, well equipped. The welcome pack included everything we would need on arrival. The welcome note left by the owners was very helpful and the owners were easily contactable.

    An extremely well appointed,well equipped cottage, ideally situated for walking and visiting local areas of interest. A thoughtful welcome basket for both ourselves and our dog, can highly recommend this property

    We loved it. It was quiet and peaceful. The cottage was so well stocked to a high quality it was a pleasure to cook and relax. The rooms were kitted out to a lovely standard. The welcome pack was great, from sweets for the kids, fresh milk, locally scourced cakes and even Doris (the schnauzer) got her own welcome pack. Along with a personal handwritten note, a really lovely and welcoming touch.

    Loch View is a lovely traditional cottage very clean & with all home comforts. Very well equipped and surrounded by lovely countryside. Lots of lovely walks from the doorstep and many more a short drive away. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The only negatives were the traffic noise and the garden although enclosed it isn’t secure for a small dog ( we have a Border Terrier who is very inquisitive and made a b-line for the space either side of the front gates everytime he was outside). We had to have him on a long tether for safety reasons as the property is situated along a main road. All told we enjoyed a lovely restful break in this beautiful part of Scotland.
