We really loved the location in Balmaha: the Oak Tree Inn Restaurant and Bar, as well as shop is excellent. The proximity to Loch Lomond and Conic Hill is great. The property itself, however, was much to our disappointment, in alignment with the previous negative reviews: only superficial cleaning had been done. Considering that the owner allows pets and our dog shed quite a bit, it would have been beneficial to have a vacuum on site (instead of only a broom). We did our best to keep the place tidy. We had issues with locks and flimsy, uncomfortable beds (my husband could not sleep in the master bedroom, as the slatted frame of the bed collapsed underneath him, leading us to the hoard of dust bunnies under the bed -- it looked like the floor under the bed had not been cleaned in months!) The bedding felt damp and the towels provided smelled musty. The toilet lid will fall on you when you use the toilet. While showering, the water will run behind the bathtub and into the wall: don't be surprised at how "soft" the tub floor feels, as we believe there is water damage under the tub. We used our own garbage bags in the kitchen bin and much to our disgust, there was dried food remains in the bottom of the bin. The kitchen is in desperate need of a thorough cleaning, as dried food remains were on the back-splash behind the stove. The ventilation hood was covered in grease and a thick layer of dust. There were crumbs in and on the toaster from previous guests. The microwave walls had food stuck to them. Quite simply, the kitchen was not hygienic: we cleaned it before we cooked there. Dead bugs hung in the corner of every window. Can they not be removed? Bring disinfectant wipes, paper towels, garbage bags and indoor footwear should you stay here. If you have back issues or a dust allergy, we do not recommend you stay here. We won't be back.

We had a lovely stay at Lomond View Cottage. The owner left us wine, biscuits and chocolates which was really nice touch. Having Sky TV was also an unexpected bonus. The accomodation is comfortable and everything you could need is there. The location is fantastic! A great pub, shop and cafe, plus boat trips, are literally on your doorstep. And it's right next to Conic Hill which is well worth the effort to walk up there - the views are breathtaking! Nearby the village of Drymen has some lovely pubs and bagpipes every Thursday evening. Balloch is only 20 minutes away and Glasgow is only 45 minutes down the road. All in all a lovely cottage in a great location so would thoroughly recommend.

Cottage very cosy and the conservatory gets lovely and warm and overlooks loch Lomond, a very warm welcome when we arrived nicely heated and a drink and chocolates was a very nice touch, bus stop just around the corner and walking from the doorstep.

This is a wonderful little cottage in a beautiful location. You can look out onto the Loch Lomond through the conservatory windows. There are quite a lot things to do nearby. And the cottage has everything you need. I can just recommend it.
