Just yards from the seashore in the quaint village of Whitehills, this delightful detached coastal cottage offers comfort and tranquillity throughout the year. The living room with its beamed ceiling and cosy wood burner is a wonderfully relaxing room where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine while viewing the ever changing sea. Upstairs the rooms are attractively furnished with comfort firmly in mind and again make the most of the view, where seals and other marine life are often spotted inshore. The rear of the cottage boasts a lovely garden made up of patios and borders with shrubs, a perfect sheltered place for a barbeque. There are a number of good walks in the village peppered with information boards describing the village life in days gone by. Today, the harbour holds berths for pleasure crafts and yachts rather than fishing boats, but there are plenty of places nearby which sell fresh fish and other goodies from the sea. The picturesque path towards Banff Links meanders along the shore which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a haven for geologists. Enjoy a round of golf at Duff House Royal in Banff, 3 miles, where good shops and eateries can also be found. This is a great base for visiting the other Banffshire and Moray villages and towns including Portsoy, Cullen, and further west, Lossiemouth and Elgin. Beach 400 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

We absolutely loved Low Shore - a beautiful cottage in wonderful, quiet location by the sea. Had everything we needed and more (pizza oven, fire pit). Comfortable beds. Delicious welcome pack.

Loved the cottage, loved the location the only criticism I would say is that the living room need brightening up. It’s a dark room so needs bright walls , more lamps and a new couch . Everything else in the cottage was perfect x

The cottage was just perfect for us. It had everything we needed and the outside space was the best we’ve ever had in a holiday cottage. Having a car parking space and gates to keep the dog in safely were an extra bonus. We would love to go back. Many thanks for the welcome gifts very much appreciated.

Such a joy to stay in a lovely cottage feeling like a valued guest , welcomed by the generous owners. We were fortunate to have a week with sun so enjoyed spending time in the nice garden when we weren’t walking in this beautiful area. Right opposite the sea you couldn’t be in a more perfect position! Highly recommended!

Perfect. We wanted to get away from everything and that's what Low Shore gave us. Right next to the sea, not lots of shops etc, basic amenities, 3 nice places to eat though, but that suited us. The cottage is very dog friendly, gorgeous garden. Pizza oven brilliant We felt at home the moment we walked in. Very comfortable with good quality furnishings and everything we needed. Never felt so relaxed. Lots of things to do within a short drive. We only left yesterday but are already trying to book to go back. Go, you won't be disappointed. ?

We had a very relaxing week at the cottage, which is beautiful, right next to the stunning sea, and we were fortunate enough to have a good week of weather! Excellent fish & chips from Rockfish up the road, lovely fresh fish from Downies along the road, amazing ice-cream from nearby Portsoy, and trips to the other lovely nearby villages and towns. Highly recommended!

Stunning cottage in a beautiful village very well equipped extremely comfy beds best sleep we have had in years . fish and chip in village is only open until 7pm and very small potions for money but on the other note very tasty .but for us a little to far from the mountains and loch Ness but that is a personal preference.

What an absolutely amazing cottage. The location is simply outstanding. The welcome pack is the best we've ever had and we stay in cottages several times a year. The interior is finished off to a very high standard and everything you need in the kitchen. The beds were super comfy. We knew there wasn't a lot in the village shop wise (hence the score of 5) that along with the fact the one pub was overpriced as was the chippy!! (that's just my personal point of view) We would most definitely return and have told all of our friends about it.
