This beautiful Grade II listed cottage dates from the late 17th century and is in a south facing valley with wonderful mature gardens, surrounded by fields and woodland. The cottage has a welcoming feel, with slate tiles in the kitchen, and a large wood burner nestled in a traditional Inglenook fireplace in the living room. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking up a holiday feast, gather in the dining room to enjoy company and planning the next days adventure. A door leads from the kitchen into the conservatory, with comfortable wicker furniture and plenty of light streaming in. One bedroom on the ground floor has a zip and link bed which can be set as a kingsize or twin beds, this room also has its own en-suite and direct access to the garden. Two further bedrooms can be found on the first floor; one double and one twin room.
All modern facilities are included. As there is very little mobile phone reception here there is a landline in the property. Lower Tamsquite is a pet friendly property and is a superb base for exploring the walks of Cornwall and the North Coast. There are plenty of walks in the surrounding area and as there is very little traffic so the lanes are quite safe, it is a 20 minute walk into the village of St Tudy where you can enjoy the church or local pub and restaurant, whichever takes your fancy! The opportunity to enjoy a glass of wine in the garden while soaking in the rural atmosphere is not to be missed. There are many golf courses within a 10-20 minute drive of Lower Tamsquite.
Bodmin Moor is a couple of miles away to the East and is dominated by large granite tors which tower over sweeping expanses of moorland. Bodmin Moor has engendered fear and awe throughout history and hence provided inspiration for writers, poets and sculptors. Standing stones, burial chambers, clapper bridges, cottages and farms across the moor give a hint of the 4000 years of human development ever since Bronze age farmers first arrived. Beach 7½ miles.
