Overall the cottage was just about okay. There were simple things that let it down. Positive-The cottage was in a good location for walking the manifold way up to Wetton hill and Thors cave. It was on the main road though and very noisy. It had character and the wood burner was good for warming the house up. The kitchen area was small but had good equipment. You would struggle to fit 4 people around table. Negative- overall cleanliness was really bad and comment book had many comments about this. The cushions on the sofa had lots of stains on them. Bedding was clean though. Main bed was uncomfortable and springs and electric blanket could be felt. Small tv which scratched our DVD and then wouldn't play others. The towels were too small. I wouldn't stay there again I'm afraid.

A lovely cottage in a picturesque location where you can undertake a hike right from the doorstep. A couple of pubs nearby but no grocery shops so best to stock up before you get there. The cottage is right on a road so there is some traffic noise but it's not overly busy. No phone signal (not unusual in the area in general!) and no wifi in the cottage (although there is wifi in the local pub) so send any last-minute communications beforehand :-). There's a nice outdoor area and BBQ, and a parking spot around the back of the property. A lovely place to stay for a few days and would stay again.

It was lovely to stay in a place steeped in history. Loved the location...downside too many knick knacks gathering dust....needs we cluttering but was fine for the 3 nights ..pub just 5mins walk away provided really nice food...it was a lovely break.
