    > Situated in the pretty village of Dewlish, surrounded by the rolling Dorset hills, these two highly individual and beautifully converted 18th-century farm buildings occupy a quiet corner of a courtyard on the edge of a 500-acre dairy and arable farm. Both are full of charm and character and are set around a shared outdoor heated swimming pool. Manor Farm Barn is detached, the larger of the holiday properties, and is arranged over three floors, offering eight en-suite bedrooms. The spacious living room has a beamed ceiling and French doors out to the courtyard, and there is a large, well-equipped farmhouse-style kitchen with range. Churn House offers four bedrooms, and boasts attractive brick and flint walls with pine panelling in the kitchen/dining room. Each has its own patio with furniture and bbq, and shared use of a games room. Children will enjoy watching the farm activities, with ducks and hens on site. There are bridle paths extending from the farm and many lovely walks to enjoy, with several inns nearby and a village pub just 150 yds away. The area is rich in history, and the landscape featured in Thomas Hardy’s novels. Nearby is Tolpuddle, made famous by the Tolpuddle Martyrs, Clouds Hill (NT) where Lawrence of Arabia lived, and Athelhampton, a 15th-century manor house set in fine gardens. The Dorset Coast is only 12 miles away, with unspoilt chalk cliffs, and the notable beauty spot of Lulworth Cove. Shop 1½ miles.

Note: Manor Farm Barn (DPU) and Churn House (DPT) can be booked together to sleep up to 23 guests, making it an ideal venue for corporate events and large families or groups. By prior arrangement, catering can also be provided and the games room can be converted into a conference room

15 adults stayed at Manor Farm House in July. It has a very large kitchen-diner and huge lounge. Eating can be in the kitchen or outside where there are plenty of tables and chairs both in the sun and under the veranda. The heated pool was a good size and a lovely temperature (but maybe shared with occupants from an adjacent property). Do take your own pool towels. The bedrooms were comfortable although one twin I think is better for children as it is quite small and there is no drawer space. The bathrooms were supplied with plenty of hot water but the boiler was noisy (even during the night) and the exhaust fumes meant we had to close some windows from time to time.

Return visit after 10 years. We had a great family gathering for my father’s 80th birthday at Manor Farm barn and Churn House. This gives excellent accommodation for up to 23. The heated outdoor pool was pleasant even at this time of year! The owner was friendly and helpful - the children enjoyed letting out the hens and collecting eggs.

An amazing weekend at this lovely converted barn. It was a family reunion and there were several children under 10 years old in our party. The barn is extremely spacious with a games room. Two enormous tables and everything provided that we could wish for. Spotless. The children were delighted with the sheep, donkeys, alpacas and chickens (so were the adults). Really I can't praise this place enough - the owner is very friendly and obliging. Not many 'local amenities' but that's not why we came. Totally recommend Manor Farm Barn for a get-together for a large group, in the beautiful Dorset countryside.

We have just returned from a lovely week at Manor Farm. As a large family group the big downstairs rooms and multiple ensuite bedrooms were ideal. For a winter holiday the house was surprisingly warm all the time! The back garden is secure enough for children to play and dogs to do their thing without close supervision. The games room was an added bonus enjoyed by both the adults and children in our group. Locally in Dewlish village we received a warm welcome at both the parish church and the local pub, both only a few minutes walk away from the cottage. Further afield we enjoyed days out to Monkey World, The Tank Museum, Weymouth and Lulworth Cove & Durdle Door. The owner was very helpful whenever we contacted her. Thanks for a lovely week, we hope to book again next year.

A lovely get away for 2 extended families with plenty of space for us not to be tripping over each other. Friendly hostess to greet us on arrival and felt nothing was too much trouble. Thank you

Manor Farm Barn is a beautiful place to stay and it was ideal for a large, family 70th birthday celebration. The setting is beautiful, the heated pool a must for children and the farm animals a magnet for them. The village pub is friendly and does good food and the barn is right in the centre of Dorset's wonderful scenery. The huge lounge in the barn is furnished comfortably but has no heating apart from a log fire which only warms a small portion of the room. Some of the radiators upstairs didn't work either so a few of the rooms were chilly. Overall though, it is an outstanding property and I would definitely stay there again.
