Excellent well equipped cottage, secure farm setting with automatic gate at entrance. We took baby and two dogs, they provided a quality high chair and cot which was all set up for us on arrival, secure garden area for dogs and pet vacuum cleaner. Super warm cottage, wood burner we didn't use as it was so warm anyway. Few channels on TV and dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, large microwave, excellent AEG coocker. Superb bath and shower! Only downside is the road noise/lights at night but this is greatly reduced by using the shutters.

As others have said, the property is on a very busy road, and the traffic noise is intrusive, both day and night. Some better glazing would help I think. The main reason I wouldn't recommend it is that, even though the listing states there is parking for two cars, we were told that we should take both cars out with us each day as it is a working farm. The ability for our grown up children to join us for part of the holiday was part of the reason for booking this one, and we had not anticipated there being an issue with going out together in one car and leaving the other at the property. Being told this left us feeling a lot less than welcome, and I’m not sure what would be expected if we had been unlucky with the weather and decided to stay in!

Lovely cottage. The sofas and bath were great, and lots of fun things within half hour drive. Unfortunately the noise from the very busy main road was bad enough to affect sleeping every night . Additionally the water pump in the second bedroom is loud too, so it's best not to use water when those sleeping in that room are in bed. Dogs are allowed, but you'll need to drive them somewhere to be walked.

Stayed 2 yrs in a row and plan to return for a 3rd is so good. Accommodation and facilities much better than many cottages we've stayed in, especially with the added touches of a bottle of wine on arrival and free range eggs available next door. Yes it's on a road and yes there is some traffic noise but not enough to bother us and it quietens right down over night anyway. All the attractions of the Derbyshire dales are 30 mins to an hour away with some such as lantern pike in walking distance. Local village amenities are fine and there's a nice pub 5 mins away, but the absence of a path from the cottage on a 50 mph road makes it daunting to walk so safest to drive. But overall a fantastic cottage with great facilities and a lovely warm homely feel that is well worth the money.

Second stay at this property and the quality of the cottage was still as good as last time. We think it is one of the best places we have stayed for location (some might not like it being right on a busy road, but it did not detract from our stay and having great secure parking right outside the property is a bonus!). The amenities (best bath!) and a well stocked kitchen for appliances. The hosts are very friendly, warm welcome and readily available if you have any issues. Also great if you have dogs! Being able to bring both of our dogs was wonderful. Would highly recommend.
