It is ideally located right in the heart of The New Forest, only 200 yards from the centre of Burley, which attracts many visitors year round with its tea rooms, pubs, horse riding stables, cycle hire, quaint gift shops and ice cream parlour. There is also a spa in the village where you can spend a day relaxing. Roaming ponies and cattle can often be found outside the cottage or wandering through Burley – it certainly makes a change from a traditional traffic jam! Miles of beautiful walks are available, as is golf, or alternatively the surrounding area can be explored by car or on bicycle via the many cycle paths, where you can discover some of the appealing villages, towns, attractions and gardens such as Lyndhurst, the sailing town of Lymington (with ferry terminal to the Isle of Wight), Beaulieu Motor Museum, Exbury Gardens and the riverside village of Bucklers Hard. The county of Hampshire itself was enjoyed by Jane Austen with her house and museum in Chawton and her resting place in Winchester Cathedral. Further afield but well worth a trip is Christchurch, Monkey World and the Tank Museum near Wool. Marwell Zoo, Peppa Pig World, ‘Go Ape’ adventure park, The Owl and Otter Park and nautical maritime history at Southampton, with retail shopping outlets, are also within easy reach. The coastline with its beaches at Bournemouth, Sandbanks and Poole is within a short drive, with golden beaches and has many popular activities such as windsurfing, boating and swimming. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant 250 yards.

Lovely location; easy access and parking; very comfortable and dog/child safe, with the exception of some poisonous berries in the garden. One disadvantage was that the boiler is situated in the downstairs bedroom and it went on and off constantly for a long time early every morning. This did not aid my sleep after about 6.00 am.

There are no words to describe how much we loved this cottage, every single detail had been thought of and the obvious care and thought that had gone into the decoration, the layout and the equipment really shone through. To say we felt welcomed and at home is an understatement our only regret is that we didn’t book for longer as a week was way too short.

Given it a 6 because there was only 3 of us, but if there was maximum occupancy then it would be 10/10.

Just back from a wonderful Easter weekend break at Mast Cottage. It is a beautiful, well equipped cottage set in a quiet location but just a short walk from Burley centre. We very much enjoyed the local pubs, walks in the forest and a trip to Mudeford Quay for crabbing.

Perfectly situated in the centre of Burley with everything in walking distance. Ringwood only 15 minutes away for anything you cannot find in the village. The cottage is lovely although the sofa somewhat challenging if smaller then 6 foot. Gardens also a beautiful sun trap but could do with a few keen gardeners over a long weekend to bring back to the level of the photos. Sunday roast at the New Forest Inn at Emery Down (13 mins drive) is a must and need to book.

Mast Cottage is very welcoming and homely. It is extremely weel equipped with plenty of crockery and cutlery so you are not constantly using the dishwasher. We took the cottage for a family gathering and it was perfect for the occasion with plenty of space for eating and socialising.

Beautiful cottage, very comfortable and clean. Lots of space inside and good location for walks, bike rides etc... Cottage was very well equipped and a very relaxing environment. 7 of us stayed there and there was plenty of space for us all. 3 bedrooms upstairs, with shower and toilet. There is 1 bedroom downstairs with it's own shower room. Also, another separate bathroom downstairs. With 7 adults, the facilities were brilliant, as never a queue for the bathroom. All in all, a really lovely cottage and we really enjoyed our time there. Would definitely return. Lovely pub near by and very reasonably priced. We ate there for the majority of our stay.

We all loved the cottage. It was comfortable and spacious, well equipped and ideally located with Burley village centre just around the corner. Welcome pack with wine and snacks was much appreciated too! Wish we could have stayed longer. Will definitely be coming back!

We had a wonderful few days at Mast Cottage. Burley is a lovely place to stay, and Mast Cottage is situated within walking distance from the shops and pubs. The Cottage itself has been well thought out and is very comfortable. I would thoroughly recommend staying here and we definitely plan to return soon!

The house it’s self was lovely all we could wish for. And the village on the edge of the New Forest was just gorgeous.
