Excellent small character quiet terraced cottage located in Threlkeld near Keswick (10 - 15 minute drive) with stunning views both front and back (attractive patio). Whilst this is a two bedroom property (1 large comfortable double and 1 twin) it ideally suits a couple or maybe a family with two children (as opposed to two couples). Extremely well fitted, equipped and comfortable - modern but retaining all the character of a Lake District village cottage. Has wood burning stove in kitchen/diner and in lounge (did not use as we were there in July). Steep relatively narrow treads for stairs to upstairs bedrooms and bathroom. All facilities at the cottage were in excellent working order and good quality. Nice touches such as tea/coffee/milk/biscuits provided at arrival. Easy access arrangements. On street parking immediately outside - whilst the road is fairly narrow we were able to park our large car immediately outside and still allow room for the local farmer to pass by with his equipment and machinery ! Reasonable pub in the village (Horse & Farrier) about a ten minute stroll away.

Meghan Cottage and the Threlkeld surroundings were a holiday in themselves: spectacular views front and back, spacious and extremely comfortable accommodation, and delightful long or short walks on the doorstep with outstanding gourmet food or coffee and cakes within easy reach. Keswick and all its amenities and attractions five minutes away by car, then onwards to the Lakes for walking, swimming and boating. Every day was a joy for us, and we couldn't recommend Meghan Cottage as a starting-point more wholeheartedly!

Megan’s cottage is in a idea location quite and peaceful except for the first night when we had a group of very noisy chaps in the house next door. It’s perfect for couples maybe a bit tight for 4 especially for cooking. Sitting room needs new chairs sofa and carpet, well worn. But we absolutely loved our stay there and loved Threlkeld we have booked another cottage for later this year and would certainly book Megan’s cottage again.

Stunning location with the most amazing view from the back of the cottage, the kitchen is well equipped but the sink is hard to use when you are only 5ft. The furniture and carpets could do with updating and the lounge furniture is quite uncomfortable. But a sweet cottage.

Very nice cottage... considered re booking but have decided not to for now due to the potential of a building site opposite... noticed signs for planning application

We LOVED this cottage - cosy, warm, everything we needed, amazing location at the foot of the hills, nearby pubs and only a short drive to Keswick!

The cottage is in a fantastic location with fell views from every window. It had pretty much everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Perhaps just a more comfortable sofa in the lounge would have been nice.

We had a most enjoyable time during the week of 14 - 21st September despite the typical cloudy/rainy weather. We liked Derwentwater, Cockermouth, Cummock Water, Buttermere, a trip to the Yorkshire Dales, the Carlisle to Settle railway ride, etc.
