Wigtown, Scotland’s official book town, is home to a charming gallery, and excellent cafés, and is located only a few miles from Bladnoch Distillery, where visitors can sample the local malt whisky. Other country pursuits are available including shooting and riding. Golfers will feel equally at home in this area with Stranraer, Portpatrick and Lagganmore golf courses within a 20-minute drive, while Turnberry, with its world famous course is only 45 minutes away and also offers a spa, off road driving, quad biking activities and restaurant facilities. For the more active there are numerous cycle routes set out in stunning forestry commission surroundings, and cycle hire is available at these centres. Ideal property for a large family gathering. Had facilities to suit everyone, well decorated throughout. Accessible for my disabled daughter and my frail father. The kitchen was huge, all ten of us could sit round the table. A few larger pots and pans and serving dishes would have been great though. The bedrooms were lovely. Lots of bathrooms and toilets made the whole stay easier. The local area was great, lots to do. Lots of eateries, the beach cafe did the best pizza I have ever had, and I don’t even like pizza that much. Some lovely little shops. Most places were dog friendly, the local post office was great as it did cash back. There are no cash points. We went to Stranraer a couple of times, one day for the Agricultural show, which was great. I would recommend this property for any large family groups.

The property needs a little TLC and the owner after informing him of a few issues completely ignored my messages.

Place was dirty with broken glass and nails and pieces of wood on the floor. Their was poo in one of the toilets on arrival. One of the bathroom door handles was broken off with the screws lying around for 2 two year olds to get a hold of. The outside area was deceptive on the photos and not fit for toddlers as their is a huge drop at one end and a road at the other. We had to find and then put up the travel cot we had requested. The fan oven didn't work. Half the toaster didn't work. Their were numerous lamps with no bulbs and four days in we had a power cut and by this point had enough so went home 3 days early.

This is an amazing villa in an amazing location, unfortunately the villa needs a lot of TLC. If the owner or maintenance person paid attention to the guest book and took note of the recommendations this would be a luxury villa. Would I return yes but would expect the issues to be sorted. This has great views over the town. It’s spacious with a great sky package, for a birthday weekend we had a great time. I would recommend Connel Restaurant in the town. Food is amazing.

A lot of maintainance required. Holes in walls, doors don't stay closed, taps coming out of sink, hob not secured, back double doors only one opens, broken tables outside, dog mess in garden, no mirrors in bathrooms or some bedrooms,no wardrobe in bedroom so no where to hang clothes, lights not working, no overhead cover on hot tub so if raining you can't use it. Shame all these small things are requiring attention as it's a lovely big house and sitting in hot tub views are beautiful, sky TV a good feature. Overall I was a little disappointed but still had a good time.

What a fantastic weekend we had in this lovely house. Alongside my family with some friend to celebrate my dads very special birthday. There was a few holes in the walls and the door handles were falling off, there was also no place for you to hang up your jackets. Apart from that this house is absolutely amazing, I would recommend it to anyone. Your are very close to local shops and pubs and it’s in a fantastic location. The owner was also a pleasure to speak with. Thank you for all your help

Had a really lovely mini break at this holiday home-very spacious and well equipped for a group of 10. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Great location with stunning views. Few small niggles, for example no hand towels, maybe more lamps in living area, more mirrors in bedroom but overall a good holiday rental and we would recommend this house.

We had a fantastic time and booked up for the following year during our stay. The house is a great size for a big family gathering and the kids and adults all enjoyed the hot tub. The views on from the back are absolutely spectacular!! The house was well equpit with everything that a family would need for a break away.
