The property is quaint and quirky with thick walls floors which run off at different angles ceilings of varying heights and even a few stone steps to take you up from the lounge into the kitchen area.  Stable doors lead out to an open mature garden area and the river side is only 3 metres away.  " https://img.chooseacottage.co.uk/Property/869/840/869847.jpg CC523082

The accommodation is in a beautiful spot and the host lovely. Due to the layout, it is not suitable for those with mobility issues. The accommodation itself is basic with no frills, budget bedding etc. However, the mattress is AWFUL. When we first checked the bed I was excited as I thought there was an electric blanket - then realised that it was the springs I could feel through a mattress protector and duvet! I offered to purchase a mattress topper but got no response. A few pounds spent on a better mattress, better quality bedding and pillows plus provide essentials such as a hairdryer would provide a much better experience. What might do for family staying isn't necessarily suitable for paying guests. Another issue was with the sofa that had a faint smell of urine (like an old people's home) so we covered it with a blanket to make it comfortable to sit on. I was going to wash the covers but was nervous about whether this would shrink them. Other than that, the accommodation was clean (except for the oven) and the flowers were a lovely touch. Thank You.

We had an amazing week and the cottage is in the most perfect spot. Only thing which didn't take shine of the holiday for us was the bed. Matress not great and bed seemed small double. Also with only a double duvet one of us was some times left cold as duvet huggers. As we have a king duvet on our double bed. But again not a major issue. We will be back once we have gone further north. Cottage was amazing we are missing the sound of the river and the nature around us. Back in the busy city of Bristol. Hosts where amazing knew we could go to them if needed. Had a lovely holiday Kind regards Louise and Rob

We loved our stay in this quirky cottage and the location next to the river is just stunning. Our hosts were both friendly and very welcoming. Will definitely be going back xx

Mill House Cottage is like staying at a friend's house who owns an old mill house on the banks of a river. The cottage has character and is homely and there is a variety of mismatched furniture and the oven has seen a lot of service (it is not fan assisted but does work). The bed is ok but would benefit from either a new mattress or mattress topper. The windows are on the smaller side but there are great views of the river from them. The bathroom is downstairs and furthest from the bedroom. It is down a single track road but there are plenty of passing points and it is well located for getting to Loch Lomond and also Stirling/Glasgow/Edinburgh.
