No smoking. These two very comfortable semi-detached holiday cottages 26817 and 26818 occupy a stunning elevated position on a mixed working farm on the headland just outside the beautiful village of Pennan. Both properties boast fantastic sea views Mill Shore Cottage has a cosy living room which features windows on two sides allowing uninterrupted viewing of Mill Shore below – a secluded shingle beach with sandy shallows beyond offering a unique perspective on the abundant marine life – seals can be spotted easily in the bay whilst further out whales and dolphins are often sighted. Pennan Lodge again has marvellous views of Pennan itself and the bay beyond. In addition to the amazing marine life just round the corner and visible from the cottages is Troup Head a renowned nature reserve featuring the only UK mainland colony of gannets. Next door is Cullykhan Beach another secluded cove reached by a steep walk down to the shore. Pennan is renowned for its famous phone box as featured in the film ’Local Hero’ but it is a lovely village in its own right typical of those strung out along this rugged coastline including Crovie and Gardenstown reached by steep winding roads to the bottom of the cliffs from which they cling. This is an AONB providing wonderful areas for walking. Shop and restaurant 4 miles pub ¼ mile.\n" https://img.chooseacottage.co.uk/Property/928/840/928601.jpg 26817

Fantastic stay in a lovely cottage. Very comfortable with all facilities you could need. A few miles from nearest shops etc so car essential but the peaceful location is part of the appeal. Highly recommended.

Great little cottage. Lovely views. Would book again, if it wasn't so far to drive from Cornwall.

    Comfortable cottage in lovely location

    out of 10

An excellent property with a stunning view of the sea. Very comfortable. The only very minor snag was that the shower lacked a bit of power. The central heating was very effective and easily controllable. Pennan itself is a bit quiet with only the pub/restaurant - which is very good but only open from 5pm Wed to Sun. The walk up the hill to the cottage nearly killed us so take the car!

Relaxing, quiet country setting. If the sitting room windows had been a bit lower would give a spectacular view over the north sea and the local beach. Heating in cottage was very good.

Lovely clean cottage with fantastic views ,very lucky with weather.

We found everything that we desired in the cottage, and round about. The local amenities' score merely reflects the necessity of travelling to the shops for supplies. It's not detrimental. The views are superb and negate the "need" for television. We didn't even bother switching either one of them on. We had books, and the views through the windows. The comfort levels are high, and it was a nice touch to be "greeted" by a Christmas lights, etc., when we entered the cottage. We were new to the area and were more than plasantly surprised by what the region has to offer, and will most certainly return.
