Spacious barn set in rural surroundings. A short drive to local village for amenities. Good location for Lowestoft, Broads and surrounding area. Would go again!

Lovely place to stay, lots of room for all of us. Everything we needed. We all enjoyed a walk or bike ride to the river at the bottom of the lane and then on to the pub!! We were about half an hour away from everywhere such as Norwich, Great Yarmouth & Wroxham which made it an ideal place to stay.

This is the second year we have been to monks barn, it's a fantastic location and the house is big enough and we'll equipped for our party of 10, the fishing lake is amazing, the only let down was that it was very dirty, the Windows need a good clean, cupboards was dirty, fridges smelt, the beds was clean, however under the beds was dirty, bedside lamps was full off cobwebs, the rug in the living room was dirty, we had a dishwasher full of the last guest's dirty pots, it needs a lot of tlc, it's very shabby, we would have loved to go again for the space and location, but due to the cleanliness and the deterioration for the last time we visited, we won't be booking again, which is a real shame , but we don't want to stay in a dirty house.

I think the barn needs renovating before it is rented out again. Negatives. The barn was very dirty, I appreciate old places will have cobwebs in hard to reach areas, however they were everywhere, dirt on blinds, showers not clean, we even found a used razor! We had to clean the property when we arrived. The equipment advertised on website such as BBQ, fridge/freezer were all very old, BBQ was one built into a wall and the grill racks were filthy, and broken, we could not use it and fridge had a really bad smell, we had to clean before we could use. The beds were uncomfortable, and the towels were dirty and hard. House was so hot and uncomfortable in the heat and there were only two fans for the whole house, we had to buy extras. Positives The kitchen did have all of the equipment you needed in regards to crockery and cutlery and washing machine was a bonus. Location was good for site seeing, but need to drive as no local amenities. Nice garden area for sitting out in the sun.

A great property. Worked amazingly well with the young children who spent hours running around the house and garden. Would recommend.

This is the second time we have returned to the barn as a large group and the location and size is absolutely perfect, there is everything you would need at the barn to make your stay comfortable. There is only one thing that we suggest was changed would be the single mattresses as the springs are coming though and made the nights sleep a little uncomfortable l.

Monks Barn was ideal for our party size of 8 adults and 1 child. It is in a very quiet and secluded area which was great for what we were looking for. There were a couple of issues that we experienced. The heating did not work on the first day although this was fixed and resolved during our stay. I would also like to mention that some of the light bulbs did not work and some sets of lights in the lounge did not work at all. I fully understand that this is an old property with exposed brick, but closer attention could have been made to the cleanliness as there were many cob webs around the property. Lastly, the wine glass stock may need replenishing as there were only 5/6 wine glasses available upon arrival.

Lovely barn, well equipped big kitchen lovely lounge and comfy bedrooms with good heating. a short drive to lodden with local shops and v good pub restaurants.

We enjoyed our stay at Monks Barn. There were 6 adults and 4 kids and plenty of room for the kids to run around when it rained and for everyone not to be on top of each other! We felt the place was slightly tired and a bit of de-cobwebbing was needed. There was plenty of plates, cutlery, pans etc in the kitchen and great to have 2 fridges and 2 freezers. Only let down here was having only a single oven and we found cooking for 10 a bit of a challenge. Looks to have a great size bbq which would be good in the warmer months.

Been here twice now and I can honestly say it's fabulous. Friends and family enjoyed it, big barn with wonderful double bedrooms and a fantastic en-suite in one of the rooms. Big kitchen with everything you need for cooking and more and a large dining table. Front garden is very spacious with enough for a few cars and space for the kids to play. Visited the Africa Alive zoo which is 30 mins away which was fantastic, must go.
