    Enclosed patio with garden furniture (shared with other properties on-site). Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.

    This luxury apartment, with a galleried bedroom, has been sympathetically converted within a Grade II listed building built in the 1700’s, and retains incredible features and charm, as well as offering contemporary living spaces. This former commercial college has been restored to show exposed brick and stonework, exposed inglenook fireplaces, high lofty ceilings, original cast iron radiators and bespoke reclaimed wooden stairwells, a real treat for those wishing to stay somewhere a little different with a touch of luxury.

    Set in the very heart of Morpeth, a small, pretty, historic market town with a fabulous selection of cafés, restaurants and pubs on your doorstep. With your own parking area, it is perfect to have an evening out, visit some of the bespoke shops or meander along the pretty riverside without having to use the car. Morpeth is a lively town with some excellent eateries and a weekly market held in the market square. The Chantry houses tourist information and unique craft stalls, whilst boats can be hired to row along the pretty river which runs through the town.

    It is only a short drive to the Heritage Coast, where miles of golden beaches and friendly villages appeal to all ages. Stop off at Craster for their famous kippers, drop into Bamburgh Castle or carry on a little further to Holy Island. The nearby train station is perfect to take you to Newcastle upon Tyne, Durham, Edinburgh or York should you wish to explore further. All of these fantastic cities are worth a visit whilst staying in Northumberland. This is a fantastic, central location to explore the many delights of what is reputedly the friendliest county in England. There is easy road access for Alnwick Castle, 20 miles, Hadrian’s Wall (Vindoland 37 miles), Kielder Water, 45 miles, and the Northumberland National Park. Beach 8 miles.     Stunning loft apartment, super helpful hosts! Morpeth is a lovely characterful town with some interesting shops and great restaurants. There’s a river and a park just yards away. I was thrilled to see a kingfisher on a morning walk. The town centre location of the apartment means that there’s no need to take the car for an evening out or a top-up shop. The Loft is extremely comfortable and well equipped. Only slight negatives ... getting our bags up all those stairs on arrival, and parking a large car in the parking space, though by the end of our week my husband was doing it no problem! I don’t normally want to holiday in the same place more than once, but I’m planning on making an exception in this case.

    Newgate loft was a fantastic base to have an holiday. Me and my family had a fabulous time. The owners have created a excellent home the deco is a very highly standard and embraces the history to the building.

    What a lovely apartment, everything you could need for a comfortable stay and very welcoming owners. The apartment is quiet and its a short stroll to the restaurants and the town. Morpeth itself is a lovely town with some nice walks around it. It is also close to the A1 and gives good access to the delights of Northumberland. I would recommend a stay and may well return at some time.
