This brick-and-flint, oak-cut, vaulted timber-roofed adjoining barn (left hand side in exterior photograph) is situated on an arable farm, within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in this unspoilt secret corner of England.
Steeped in ancient/modern history, this rare-for-Norfolk undulating countryside has a wealth of architecture and historic sites, along with unusual villages, market towns of Holt and Fakenham, and the fabulous North Norfolk coastline incorporating such places as Blakeney, Holkham, Morston Quay and many more for the visitor to discover all within easy reach of this Grade II listed building.
Bale is a typical rural village in a farming community, noted for the famous Bale Oaks. A mile away on the A148 is the filling station with off licence and mini-market open 7 days a week. 3 miles away is the fascinating village of Binham with the priory ruins, family run pub/restaurant, a local butchers, and a garage with store full of an array of goods. Wonderful Wells is only 6 miles, a visitors haven, a traditional fishing village with all the usual tourist attractions along with craft shops and art galleries.
Hall Farm has been in the family for four generations and the Barn has been beautifully restored by the owner, in 2008, with careful consideration to comfort, design and style. With the hand crafted oak staircase that leads to the vast vaulted ceiling with exposed original oak beams, is the open-plan living/dining-room/farmhouse kitchen area with an ornamental wood burner and granite worktops allowing light and brilliant views. Solid oak floors and doors give a traditional feel to this fine dwelling. The twin bedroom, which tucks nicely under the beams allowing a closer look at the handmade ancient crafted roof, provides the lower ceiling to the kitchen and dining area. There is a toilet on this level.
Downstairs are the three large bedrooms - a double with 5ft bed and en-suite, twin bed with French doors to courtyard and a further bedroom with three pine beds, as well as the washing/drying facilities. All bedrooms have fitted carpets and there is underfloor heating throughout.
The owner’s aim is to provide guests with everything that is needed for the perfect holiday.

North Barn was the perfect venue for our 50th wedding anniversary. It comfortably accommodated our party of 9, plus another 12 guests for the party. The garden area was a great escape for the children and the dog. The proximity of the lovely North Norfolk coast was another bonus, giving us numerous options during our stay. We would certainly recommend North Barn as an ideal family holiday venue.

An excellent venue for a family celebration. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. One slight criticism - maintenance could have been improved. One or two taps were difficult to operate and [according to others] part of a skirting board was pulling away from the wall. Everything else was first class.

We loved our stay at the barn. V.comfortable, clean towels and bedding supplied. Lovely quiet spot, leading to easy access to all local tourist spots, perfect location. As per a previous review a deep clean wouldn't go a miss as dusty shelving, dead flies. Note, if you have a old dog as i do she had to be carried up the stairs as no carpeted stairs or rugs down- the living room/kitchen is on the first floor, bedrooms on ground floor. (This isn't a negative to the barn but just be something to be aware of) we would stay again. Oh and if the owners could mark the cooker buttons, which is which that would be great as took a bit of guessing due to them being rubbed off ;-) .

Terrible week, was greeted with 100s and 100s of dead and alive flys...... on the floor, beds pillows. Fixings fall down and nearly caused injuries Spoke to the owner and asked for some kind of refund. They wasn’t interested... said we should of said something.... it’s the first thing we did and they said you stayed and had a good time... That’s only because of family. I work so hard and was gutted

Absolutely amazing accommodation. My friends and I stayed here over the new year period with my dog and we loved every minute of it. Very nice bedrooms, lovely fireplace, great cooking utensils and beautiful surroundings. I can't recommend it enough.

We enjoy North Barn and have returned many times. Some of the equipment could now do with an update as it’s looking a bit tired, but overall we keep going back, and that tells you all you need to know!

Lovely barn, we had an amazing time, bedrooms are very dated. A little TLC could help this lovely barn.

Charming barn in good location but in need of some improvements. New crockery, throws on sofas and pics on the walls would improve it hugely.
