Please note The property has a natural water supply from spring and there is a deep pond in the shared garden 100 yards.\n \nThis lovely traditional farmhouse has been in the same family for 3 generations rearing beef cattle and Dorset sheep on the 130-acre farm in the heart of rural Cornwall. This holiday property is a substantial sized wing with the friendly farmer owners living next door. Built of Cornish granite the farmhouse is over 100 years old and has slate flagstone floor in the kitchen and a cosy log burner in the living room with French doors that open onto the patio at the front and the extensive garden beyond. The garden is simply lovely the perfect playspot for children - a wide expanse of lawn a myriad of colour in the spring and summer owing to an abundance of flowers with a deep pond at the far end. There is even a little boat floating on the pond. With chickens in the yard fabulous views of Bodmin Moor Caradon Hill and the village of Minions lovely farm walks and woodlands to explore this really is a delightful farm homestead just perfect for those families looking for a quiet rural location. Rilla Mill is located practically midway between the north and south Cornish coastlines which makes exploring the county very accessible from Bude to the renowned historic village of Tintagel on the north coast and little fishing villages on the south coast such as Looe and Polperro. On the edge of the moor Sterts outdoor theatre is nearby and the historic mining area’s characteristic tall chimney stacks are still seen up on the moor. The Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Tamar Valley has a pretty meandering estuary which stretches from Cotehele to Calstock and onwards to the mouth of the river at Plymouth. For golfers Travistock and Yelverton Golf Club are within easy reach. Horse riding nearby. There is so much to see and do you may need longer than a week Shop 4 miles pub and restaurant 2 miles. \n " https://img.chooseacottage.co.uk/Property/125/840/1252289.jpg W44385

This is a wonderful property. Diana and John made us very welcome and clearly have worked hard to make the house a real holiday 'home'. The house was great, spotlessly clean, with really good facilities and a superb garden. Diana made sure that we were comfortable and took a genuine interest in us. It felt as though we were family or close friends but this was never intrusive. If you like traditional properties, in quiet countryside, where you can switch off it you wish but never too far from facilities and activity, this is the place. It is a little bit of a drive to some of the smaller towns (15 mins plus potentially) and very narrow Cornish lanes on the last mile or two of the journey but this wasn't a problem.

We had a very relaxing holiday the house was very clean and the rooms were a good size. The living room was very cosy especially when we had the log burner on each night. In particular we enjoyed watching the birds feed in the morning there when many different species to look at. The garden is really beautiful and I am sure it would be fantastic in the summer time. To get basic foods the nearest shop it is a twenty minutes drive each way. The nearest pub called the Manor arms did a good pint but the food was poor and certainly did not warrant the prices they charged.

Beautiful cottage, spacious and warm. Working farm but quiet farms. Diane is lovely and is always on hand if you need her.

We have been staying in holiday cottages for almost 20 years. This, by far, is the best. The comfort and welcome are second to none. The effort that the hosts put in to make your stay amazing, well, it just makes the holiday. This is far more than a holiday, this is a home away from home. I can't recommend this highly enough. There are absolutely no negatives. Put away your iphones people and connect as a family. This is the place.

    Amazing place to stay!

Just amazing. Don't even consider another holiday property if you are lucky enough to find this one. Diana is just an amazing person, not only looking after the farm, with her husband John, that joins this holiday cottage, but also taking the time to be so welcoming and helpful. A lovely lemon drizzle cake and local apple juice awaited us. The view and gardens are simply beautiful and the house itself is stunning. Large rooms, clean and so beautiful with everything you could need. A great location with a short car journey to some beautiful walks. We really enjoyed hiring bikes and cycling from Padstow to Bodmin and back on the Camel Trail (22 miles) with our 7 year old (on a tag along) and 16 and 14 year old boys. The drive to Padstow is about 40 mins. Thank you to Diana and John, we had an amazing time and can't wait to come back.
