This comfortable, terraced holiday home is close to the centre of the friendly fishing town of Amble, with its working harbour and marina. The harbour area has a selection of ’pod’-style outlets, and every Sunday there is a popular market. Around this area are some interesting dining places, as well as two fish and chip shops and an Italian-style ice cream shop, a great stop off before heading to the harbour. Boat trips are available here to Coquet Island and its RSPB bird sanctuary. The historic village of Warkworth, with its hillside castle, pubs, bespoke shops and pretty riverside walks, is 2 miles away. Many locals love to walk from Amble to Warkworth and admire the river view and castle on the way. Visit the ducal town of Alnwick, with its famous castle featured in the Harry Potter films and Downton Abbey. The Duchess’ water gardens with spectacular grand cascade waterfall and the world’s largest treehouse restaurant should not be missed. Amble is on the edge of the Heritage coastline, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with some of the most unspoilt beaches and picturesque coastline in England, as well as plenty of foot and cycle paths.
