This property has a security deposit of £200.\n Dating back to the 1700’s and following a huge successful restoration and conversion project Old Castle Mill now provides spacious accommodation. This detached house and annexe is set within immaculate grounds in a quiet setting just outside of Malpas in south west Cheshire. Malpas although an old market town is actually classed as a large village made up of half timbered ancient buildings a Grade I listed church and Cholmondeley Castle. It boasts everything you could ever need from a small town and it’s proximity to Chester and the Shropshire and north Wales borders makes it an excellent location for exploring several parts of the UK at once. \nVisit the walled city of Chester with its excellent shopping and nightlife racecourse the River Dee and the second most photographed clock in the UK next to Big Ben. Visit Llangollen in north Wales with its horse drawn canal barges steam railway Pontcysyllte Aqueduct which you can canoe over and white water activities such as rafting tubing and gorge walking or slightly further afield is Snowdonia. Shropshire one of England’s most attractive counties has plenty of places to visit including Shrewsbury Ironbridge and Bridgnorth.     This is a beautiful and comfortable house but is very inconvenient. There are not enough bathrooms - one lovely en-suite shower room in the master bedroom and one other bath/shower room for everyone else, 8 others in a full house, though there is a loo leading off the kitchen. One bedroom leads off the ground floor twin with a staircase that is frankly hazardous at night, and hazardous at all times for children. The bedroom it leads down to either has to use these stairs at night to get to a loo or go outside and back into the kitchen through a back door, so you can’t lock the house at night. This is less than clear on the agent’s description. The agency website also doesn’t mention there is no mobile phone signal at all and that the broadband doesn’t work if more than 3 people try to log on at the same time. You have to read the reviews to find this out. We also had to wash table knives halfway through a meal as there was only one each provided. Incredible in a house that has so many luxurious features. The house really needs a more honest description on the agent’s website.

    This place is stunning! We absolutely loved our stay here. Its really well presented and equipped, and very clean. It is in a very rural location so be aware that you will have to drive to any shops, pubs or bars. But the setting is stunning, its definitely worth it.
