Very good location and lovely hosts

its a good cottage for me, good dog walks on the doorstep, nice and quiet. I've been there at least 5 times now.

A rustic property which shows some age. It is part of an 1888 chapel. The shower performed poorly and some of the kitchen equipment was showing its age in that one of the two functional knives actually had had the tip missing which I wasn't sure if it happened whilst using it but it this wasn't the case fortunately. The owner was very welcoming and the visitors book was very complimentary from previous visitors a number of which advised they would look to return.

Second time to this cottage and will definitely return.

Cosy cottage, wonderful location. Garden was great for the dogs. Only slight niggles were the very soft mattress ( we prefer a firmer one), and the shower, which we seemed to struggle to conquer!

A very cosy and comfortable cottage, nothing was too much trouble for our hosts and the cotrage was stocked with unexpected luxuries. A great base for walks and sight seeing we had two dogs holidaying with us and recommend Gelt Woods for a doggy heaven walk.

The cottage was really easy to find and the owner was there to greet us. Friendly and helpful. The cottage itself was exactly what we wanted. It was private and cosy. We would definitely recommend and we would stay there again if we were ever in the area. It was also very reasonably priced.

Pluses: one level, modern TV, good shower, dog-friendly, enclosed garden, non-interfering owners next door. Minuses: uncomfortable seating, sagging bed, little surface space in kitchen, dusty shelves, cobwebs, general feeling of being un-loved. The hamlet of Tindale was of interest because of its industrial past but it is not particularly attractive and has no shop, pub or other amenities. There are walks from the cottage. It is about 15 minutes drive from Hadrian’s Wall.

This was a well equipped cottage with useful fully enclosed and secure garden for dogs and good walking on the doorstep. The decor was a little tired and it would have been useful to have somewhere to hang and dry wet clothes and boots. We had a few problems with the shower running cold and the water pressure wasn’t great but otherwise it was sufficiently comfortable for a short stay in lovely countryside.

Great location ideal for walking and site seeing the cottage was very clean and had every thing we needed but was very dated and cold we expect more space but we only got a small amount we would not stop here again but we would stop in the area
