This beautiful converted farmstead was originally the farmhouse and dates back to the 16th century. The farm land stretches over open countryside, crossing the delightful coastal path before descending to the beautiful secluded sandy bay of Gutcher’s Isle. Visitors to this delightful corner of Scotland are amazed at its beauty, temperate climate and relatively few people and once visited you will want to return time and time again. It’s addictive! There really is something for everyone whether you prefer the solitary pastime of sea or loch fishing or sampling the local championship golf course at Southerness. There are many activities for the adrenalin seeker from mountain balling to one of the 7Stanes world class mountain biking centres just down the road. The pretty little village of Rockcliffe is a mile down the road with its arc of houses looking across to the islands of Rough and Hestan. From here the Jubilee Path leads to the equally pretty sailing village of Kippford.
Old Glenstocken may be booked seperately or for larger gathering of friends and family may be booked together with Rushcroft to accommodate 12 guests.

A lovely big cottage(more a house than a cottage). Large living spaces and big bedrooms. the photos really do show the size. Lovely and quiet.

This is a lovely setting, very spacious inside, well equipped. Suitable for my disabled mother. Plenty outside space too. Absolutely loved it and will definitely be returning.

Cottage was larger than expected and a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits very welcome , we found the house has been partially prepared for our arrival, 2 of the 3 bathrooms and the cloakroom were extremely dirty and the kitchen and utility areas also dirty - found decaying tea leaves in a tea pot in the cupboard that were stinking the kitchen out , Lots of cob webs and dead flies on window sills in kitchen and communal areas - even squashed bluebottles on 2 windows that had not been cleaned, mouse droppings on a window seat in the lounge (we expect mice in the countryside - we also expect their droppings to be cleaned up!!) However the beds were clean and comfortable , the rooms had not been hoovered and the hoover was unusable due to bare wires . We set to cleaning and this took approx 2 hours for my wife and I - not happy !! The owner arrived to welcome us and received a rather angry and frustrated response - a brand new hoover was provided within 2 days and a partial refund was given immediately along with apologies - the cottage was warm , cosy and well equipped in general just a lack of good basic cleaning and care - I even ended up cleaning the gutters over the patio doors at ground floor level as heavy rain was pouring down the doors and if continued would have come in under the door into the dining area , DVD player does not work as the controller was damage by previous guests and not replaced. We looked at older reviews and found this to be a recurring theme for other users . There were no instructions relating to refuse , appliances , heating etc that we have come to expect having rented cottages for over 30 years . We love the area and did have a lovely time once our initial problems were sorted - sort the basics and this cottage has so much going for it - would I risk returning ..... ? No
