If you want a quiet holiday Old Orchard is the place to go, lots of walks in the fields and woods. even though it was remote, our Tesco's delivery had no problem finding it. We had a lovely family week together, and hope to return again the enjoy the peace and quiet.

We had a lovely family weekend to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary in Old Orchard. Amazing countryside attached to the cottage. Lots of wildlife. The cottage itself was lovely with lots of room for us all. The only criticism we had was that one bath and a very small shower was not really sufficient for 8 of us.

Everything fine apart from the previous occupants not cleaning their dog poo up. Kitchen cold tap broken and a shard of glass missing in main bedroom window.

Stunning location and garden. A very old house with low beams, but also with good beds for tall people. Wifi could be better and watching television was not possible. But we could see netflix.

House full of character in a stunning location. Perfectly situated for a party, consisting of an extended family attending a wedding in the area. What it lacked in a few basics, we never did find an ironing board! it made up for in the beautiful gardens and meadow.

Stunning situation but weather dependent. Overall, standard of decoration and cleaning was good. However, the utility room ( into which you first enter) and kitchen very much need redecorating and reflooring. Rooms very comfortable and well equipped. TV never worked and smoke alarm missing from kitchen. Garden furniture was supplemented during our stay and we enjoyed the barbecue and fire pit. A successful holiday!

We had a lovely week staying with extended family in the cottage. The house is characterful and spacious and the garden is simply amazing. The whole cottage is even better than the photos suggest. We enjoyed walks in the local woodland and spotting deer in the field at dusk. There was lots to do in the area. Being in a very rural location we found there to be no TV signal and extremely slow internet access. We got round this by playing lots of pool and switching all devices off when we watched TV via catch up. Sitting on the patio there were very occasional whiffs of sewage but otherwise it is a delightful cottage and somewhere we would look to stay again if returning to the area.

This was a beautiful cottage set in wonderful countryside and I would like to think we will visit again BUT outside only five chairs for six persons to sit on. Had to bring kitchen chair out! The barbecue was disgusting and had never been cleaned since last year. We were not told that we would be unable to use the bathroom - because the cold water tap was completely off its fixing, and when we spoke to Charlotte about this she already knew that it was broken and the plumber was not coming until a Tuesday when our holiday would be over! So we were faced with the whole of our party sharing the showerin my en-suite room. Also mention had been made in other visitors comments about the shower door sticking and trouble getting it open - I am aged 85 years of age, and being of a conservative nature I bolted the shower room door when I was taking a shower. I found I could NOT open the shower door, and obviously I could not get to the main door of shower room. My family had to call the contact person again who was going to send her husband out - after over20 minutes during which time I became very short of breath, excessively hot, no where to rest and thelossof four of my fingernails having tried continuously to try and release the black plugs at top of door which with the water had adhered to the glass completely, and finally with an almighty last effort on my part and unfortunately I am not a very tall person, I managed to push the door open! Not a good experience and I would strongly Cancer this shower unit is looked at if for nothing else but Health and Safety - this special break was organised for my family and myself prior to my undertaking Cabcer Radiotherapy next week, but this part was rather frightening. I think the Cottage should be marketed as self catering in view of its position as because of the roads around it would be very difficult for anyone to contemplate a take away! We were well equipped except for few additional items we collected on Saturday and my Daughter is a top line Chef so were spoilt. I would love to stay at the Cottage again with my family providing the bath and shower problems were attended to and also in fairness to your Owner, as he is charged for this, and the cleaning service company needs to be upgraded. Perhaps I might have the opportunity to visit this beautiful area again and I do hope this write up is taken seriously in fairness to the owner and his lovely cottage Joan

The actual house is excellent, old, quirky and the location picturesque. Although the cottage is situated in some glorious countryside there are no local shops, pubs, restaurants etc within walking distance. Access to the cottage is not for the novice driver as the only road in, which on a sat-nav is "unamed road". As you couldn't walk to any restaurants etc., to go anywhere you had to drive. Our party wanted to have a meal/drink at a restaurant/pub so we opted for a mini-cab. This proved difficult as the mobilephone service was weak or nonexistant. More often than not there was no connection. When we did get an office they where unaware of the whereabouts of the cottage. Eventually a cab was found & we went for our meal. Our second night we chose a take away but they again had no idea of how to get to the cottage & we had to drive & pick up our food. It would appear that the best option for staying here is to self cater & just cook indoors I think the property would greatly benefit from a payphone landline.

Hello. We have two young children aged 7 and 5 and have taken 2-3 holidays in England a year since they were born in Sussex or Devon. So 20? Old Orchard and it’s incredible location is our favourite! Amazing. We will be back. Thank you so much. I am a cancer patient and the beautiful grounds replenished the spirit too - as well as lots of running around to tire the children! Petworth area, Fishers Farm Park is brilliant for them too. Lovely place x
