The unique design cleverly combines original features such as stained glass windows beams and stonework with a contemporary open-plan style which offers light bright and spacious living areas an appealing kitchen with porcelain tiled floor a bathroom with a free-standing roll-top bath plus two en-suite shower rooms each with a walk-in shower along with comfortable and well-appointed bedrooms. Set in beautiful countryside the area provides excellent walking and very good cycling. The traditional market town of Kirby Stephen 2 miles offers a good selection of shops pubs and restaurants and is also on the scenic Carlisle to Settle railway line. Within a 40-minute drive visitors can explore Ullswater and the Eastern Lakes Swaledale Wensleydale and the lesser known Teasdale along with the popular towns of Keswick Kendal Barnard Castle and Hawes. Tan Hill the highest pub in England is a short pretty drive away. The river which runs through the village of Soulby is a focal point for picnics and paddling and children can also enjoy the nearby playground.     We had a lovely, relaxing time visiting Soulby. The location is great for access to the Yorkshire Dales, North Pennines and the Lake District. It’s the perfect base for easy access to scenic drives, challenging cycles or picturesque walks. This property has been refurbished using quality materials, the finish is luxurious. We selected Old St Luke’s Church because of its high rating on this website; the rating is deserved.

    We had a fantastic Christmas week away at St Luke’s. The place is spotlessly clean, has huge beds, very well appointed bathrooms, and a general feel of high class fit and finish. There’s no doubt you’re a little remote but that just means peace and quiet and lots of uninterrupted walks. Kirkby Stephen is only a couple of miles away so plenty of amenities only 5 minutes away. Overall St Lukes provided a lovely home for us to enjoy. We would definitely recommend and more importantly hope to return again in the future.

    Excellent accommodation and location Church is modern, warm, bright and clean. kitchen is well equipped. There is plenty of off road secure parking and garden is secure for your pets, lovely touch with the dog towels, which came in very useful and welcome gift! The location of the church is perfect for stunning walks and Kirkby Stephen is a lovely little market town.
