Our Storey is nestled in a quiet cul-de-sac in the peaceful coastal village of Boulmer. This detached single-storey property is very well furnished throughout and enjoys lovely views across open farmland to the rear. Boulmer (pronounced Boomer) is a pretty coastal village with very little through traffic. Once the haunt of smugglers, it is one of the true Northumbrian fishing villages which remains virtually untouched by time. Meander along the water’s edge and watch the fishermen return with their daily catch of lobsters, crabs and salmon.

Sailing enthusiasts can make use of the yacht and small boat moorings within the sheltered estuary. Golfing enthusiasts will delight in the two courses close by, one being a fine 9-hole course adjacent to the beach and the other being a challenging 18-hole course at Foxton enjoying panoramic views. Our Storey is situated on National Cycle Route 1 making this property particularly suitable for keen cyclists.

A lovely bungalow, perfect for our family of 6, Gran and Grandad, son and daughter in law, 2 girls of 10 and 4, and the dog. A nice base for all the villages and seaside. Nice enclosed garden, and beautiful countryside all around. The Cows in the field often came to look into the kitchen doors! Not too far to visit Alnwick and Alnmouth, good job as the local pub The Fishermans Arms does not welcome dogs. Recommend this for families, the beach isn't far at all.

This was the second time at the bungalow and I can honestly say it’s like home from home. Everything you could want and need. 5 minutes walk from a lovely beach. Pub (fishing boat inn) in the village which did great food and would recommend. Close to Alnwick and plenty of other beautiful places to visit. Would highly recommend this holiday bungalow.

Wonderful property in a lovely quiet location with gorgeous secure garden overlooking fields. Perfect for our anxious rescue dog who settled in straight away. It is only a short walk to the beach /coastal path and pub - perfect if you enjoy walking. The owners have provided everything (and more) that you could need - thank you - we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and hope to return

We had a lovely week at Our Storey. (Despite terrible weather!) The bungalow is really nicely decorated with some truly stunning art, and the rooms are a good size and very comfortable. The blu-ray player in the living room was a nice surprise, and leaving discs, books and games for rainy weather was a really nice touch. Although our dog passed away a couple of weeks before she should have been staying there with us, we felt a dog would really enjoy it there - the garden was huge and really beautiful, with lots of sheep to bark at in the field behind us, and there was even a spare dog lead and toys in the house! The kitchen was really well equipped - there were things in there I didn’t know what they were used for! - and it was brilliant having a dishwasher and washing machine there. It was also great that there were things like cool bags and torches that we could use, some of which came in really useful. I will say the heating and hot water system could maybe do with an upgrade, as we kept forgetting we needed to boost the emersion heater for hot water, and as the house is heated by storage heaters that put out heat mostly overnight, because the heaters had been switched off and it was unseasonably cold the week we were there, we spent the first evening sitting in the living room wearing our coats! (We were too scared to try and use the log burner!) We also thought because people with mobility issues often look to book bungalows, maybe putting a walk-in shower in either of the bathrooms might attract more people with that issue. Also a word of caution. Don’t reverse off the drive in a low car! The kerb is a bit steep! Much better to go in backwards and come out forwards. On the whole we had a lovely time at Our Storey. The nearby beach (five minutes’ walk away) is really beautiful, and Boulmer is in a great position for exploring the Northumberland coast. Lindisfarne is only 40 minutes’ drive away, and you can get a train to Edinburgh from Alnmouth that will have you there in an hour (which we missed out on due to illness!) Also, don't miss the Treehouse restaurant at Alnwick! Truly an unforgettable experience! Thanks for our lovely stay. We had a fabulous time.

What a lovely cottage! Homely, clean and well equipped with a lovely garden. Two minutes to the beach which was great for taking the dogs out. Not only did the humans get a lovely welcome gift but the dogs were catered for too, which was a lovely touch. A fab wood burner was great for cosy nights in. The village was quiet but had a great pub serving good food and drink, a coop just up the road. Would highly recommend.

Second time at this property, and again it proved perfect for us. Welcome pack is always a good start and from then on the week was Excellent. Enjoyed the new sofa's much better than the old ones and most welcome. House lovely and warm although it was mild for the time of year. Never got to use the excellent stack of CDs / DVDs and books that are available for the odd wet day or the Log Burner. Thanks for accepting dogs they love it. Will be back again no doubt. Could you consider putting handles/rails near the showers to help those less mobile ?

Very much enjoyed stay at Our Storey. This was our second visit to this property and can recommend it. Lovely walks and doggy friendly most places except for Fishing Boat Inn in the village which was a shame as it has a very good reputation for food. Nevertheless there other inns fairly close which do allow dogs. Would definately stay there again.

Great cottage, wonderfully spacious and well equipped. Large garden was good for the dogs and the views were amazing. Short walk to the coast, which was great with dogs. Hope to return when the weather is better.
