The cottage has everything you need for an easy, comfortable holiday. The owner even left home-grown tomatoes and cucumber, as well as a Selkirk bannock and dog biscuits, to welcome us - thank you, Karen! Lovely views of the Eildon Hills and an easy, pleasant walk across the Tweed footbridge into Melrose where there are plenty of places to eat, some of them dog-friendly, good shops and a late-opening Coop - no need to bring lots of food with you. "Seasons" restaurant round the corner from the cottage serves delicious meals and is open Wed-Sun. Full marks.

Cosy, neat cottage. Ideal for 2 or 3 people. Lots of rules to abide by if taking a pet and a good stretch of the legs to the nearest shops.

We loved Overbutton Cottage. It's cosy and very comfortable with a beautiful view and has a lovely garden too. It's a short and delightful walk via the bridge into Melrose, which has plenty of excellent shops, pubs and restaurants. Karen is a superb host, and there were so many nice touches to help us settle in and make us feel at home. We hope to come "home" again soon to Overbutton Cottage!

The perfect location for our weekend break in The Borders. The welcoming added extras of a wee message on the front door, fresh flowers, eggs and milk were such lovely touches as was the local Selkirk Bannock. The rooms were well equipped and the beds very comfortable with beautiful views from each room. The village is very quite but everything we needed could be found across the river in Melrose, including the Melrose 7s Rugby tournament on the Saturday. We would most certainly stay here again if we were in the area and would highly recommend to others. Please be aware that the parking for your car is on the main street away from the cottage but this did not cause us any problems at all.

Lovely small cottage which was perfect for us and our wee dog. Wonderfully warm, with very comfortable bed. Extremely quiet village so slept well. There were lots of lovely extras for us and our dog. Owner was very attentive to needs. Everything you need to prepare meals is there along with extras such as slow cooker and coffee maker. It’s only a short walk to Melrose and a short drive to Galashiels. Too cold for the garden but it looks delightful with beautiful views. The parking was very easy and neighbours really nice too!

Had a great week at Overbutton Cottage. Very cosy with fantastic views to the Eildon Hills. Lots of nice dog walking from the house with the River Tweed only 5 minutes away. The cottage was well equipped and even had a few lovely extras which were very much appreciated. Nice wee woodburner too!

I was fully aware that there was no parking but it would have been helpful to be told that we had to reverse in to unload the bags, we arrived in the dark and it was extremely difficult to get back our. Heating was an issue the log burner was excellent but heated the front room only. The central heating was on a timer that we had no control over, which meant that to use the kitchen at times you were wearing hats and gloves. I am Scottish so a little cold does not usually affect me.

Great little cottage. Wonderful, varied area with easy access to Edinburgh via Tweedbank station. Stairs quite easy unlike many older cottages. Excellent electric cooker for those who normally use gas.

Super cosy cottage with a lot of nice personal touches. The wood burner was excellent and the jam, free range eggs, bannock cake and supply of firewood was hugely appreciated. Lovely walk across to Melrose and our family and dogs felt at home straight away. Thank you Karen.
