This is definitely a ‘marmite’ cottage: reviews online and at the property show that guests have either loved it or hated it. Personally, I am deeply disappointed and feel I have been let down by the inaccuracies in the description for this property: The garden is described as ‘enclosed’, but there were huge gaps in the hedge leading directly onto the road, and one side was fenced by a single length of barbed wire. Sadly, this is not a “large enclosed mature garden”, it is an unloved, overgrown garden on a steep slope, which is dangerous throughout, and not suitable for children or anyone who is unstable on their feet. The seating area in the garden is unsafe, with loose slabs to walk on and a broken wall, a far cry from the “enclosed patio… ideally placed for enjoying quiet summer evenings or for al fresco dining”. There is also very little view from the patio, as it is blocked by the trees in the field across the narrow road, which have clearly been there for a long time. There is a small, enclosed courtyard area just outside the back door, secured by a gate which has seen better days. This area has obviously been used by numerous dogs as a toilet, as evidenced by the acrid smell which wafts into the house if you leave the back door open. Even our dogs turned their noses up when they went outside, and we had to take them both on leads up the steep, unsafe garden path to the small patch of grass behind the house, just to go for a wee – not ideal last thing at night. Other things to note: • There is only space to park 1 car without blocking the entrance to the rental caravan opposite (also rented out by the same owner), despite being advertised as space for 2. • The TV reception in the lounge continuously breaks up. On a positive note, the kitchen is modern and well equipped, and the welcome pack including flowers, chocolates and wine was appreciated. We left the property early.

Great cottage, clean and comfy but some furniture slightly dated and getting towards end of comfort. Kitchen new and modern. Location only a few miles from Cardigan, in lovely village. Short walk to village along country lane, few walks from cottage for dogs.

Lovely cosy cottage. Perfectly clean and had everything we could have needed.

Pictures on here are not a true reflection the cottage is old, dated, cracks in the walls and marks everywhere. Toilet was dirty upon arrival urine over the back of it. Although upstairs was very clean feel that down stairs was grubby. Internet wasnt working on arrival and didnt work until the Wednesday. To be fair the router needed replacing and was replaced on the Wed. Booked the cottage as it had wi fi and this was needed . Sister in-law spoke to owners face to face on the Sunday and they were a little rude when we pointed out that two radiators were not working we were told that they were probably off although we were previously asked not to tamper with the heating. The owner spoke to myself on the Friday to say that if it was cold contact them and they would turn up the heating. Contacting them was impossible without walking to the village. For signal / network. A number of issues with our stay so unfortunately we will not be returning.
